I always get a paper receipt. But, it is a MSC Credit not Debit Card. May be the way your bank handles it. Fifth Third came out as an early adopter then took 4 months to implement it. Maybe the time allowed them to get it right. Either way been very happy. Still enjoy LoopPay wherever AP isn't accepted.

I've used it several times. The only problem I've had is at Tim Hortons. Their pos system declined the payment.

Are they Apple Pay ready? I go their reluctantly on occasion and can try.

Tried using it once and it did not work. After that I just don't bother. Would rather swipe my card and know it is going to work on anything that has a card reader rather than having to first look to see if the place accepts Apple pay, then try it, then if it fails pull out my wallet. Just swipe is so much easier for me.

You should probably add an option for those who can't use it.

As an Englishman, we've yet to get Apple Pay like the rest of world so I had to use the "wait some time" option. I would use it though. I really want to get rid of my wallet and just have my phone on me all the time. Would be so much easier for me.

Not sure if they are officially "apple pay" ready, but the nfc on the credit terminal was activated and read something along the lines of "swipe or tap to pay" with a little wireless logo and flashing lights on top. As a science literate individual, I would welcome you to try and report your findings.

Paid once at Subway, but the next time I tried to use it at the same location, it was denied.

I will check into it

I use it every chance I get, not because of convenience but because of security. Any opportunity to avoid putting my card number out there is a good thing to me. Other than one hiccup early on, it has worked quickly and flawlessly every time.

Also, I really like that every use of my card (whether through Apple Pay or by conventional means) appears as a notification on my iPhone instantly. It shocks me how instant this is. I've handed my card to a waitress and it seems like mere seconds after she walks off, I get the pay notification. It's nice to have these pop-ups because it's much easier to verify a transaction when it happens rather than scour my bill at the end of each month.

Mine are instant too #

Thank you everyone for your replies.

My credit union is "waiting for Apple to give [them] the green light" and then Apple Pay will be active. I'll try it a few times and see if I have the problem mentioned by others here.

I wish I got the notification. PNC apparently doesn't support this. But I get them on my capital one credit cards.

Apple Pay Under Attack by Fraudsters

Here's an update

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s Apple Pay is taking a hit from fraudsters in its early days. To discuss fraud concerns,*CNBC talked to Cherian Abraham, Senior Consultant at Experian and Patrick Moorhead of Moorhead Insights & Strategy. Apple Inc. introduced Apply Pay as the safest way to make mobile payments but in its statement which it sent to the Washington Post, Apple Inc. has admitted the absence of a standard adopted procedure for banks to verify consumers’ debit and credit cards.

Since this poll has strange options that don't apply to my case. I use it, but it isn't exactly fine yet for me. It only works about half the time, sometimes I have to place my thumb and have it go through 2 or 3 times before it actually registers with the cash register. I doubt that this is even an Apple issue specifically, but as far as the whole experience it has been anything but perfect for me so far.

It works fine, but for fast food restaurants they need to have the terminal outside the window or at least somewhere reachable from my car, I don't need to hand someone my phone to take inside then come back a minute later to tell me they need my fingerprint or passcode, this whole process is to make paying for something simpler not inconvenient.

I agree, the restaurant drive-thru's need to put a reader underneath the window so we can pay with our phones/watches. I know that's probably expensive for the franchisees to implement, but needs to happen. The ones who do it will see an increase in customers.

I use it every chance I can. The only thing that prevents me from using it more is the lack of places around here that take it.

I agree with the poster that commented on the difference between Home Depot, that accepts Apple Pay, and Lowes, that doesn't. Home Depot here is a mess, with no rhyme or reason to the store layout. Since gps does not work inside the store, I'm forced to resort to bread crumbs to ensure I can find my way out. Lord, do I wish that Lowes would take Apple Pay.

It doesn't always work for me. Waiting a year or two before things are better and cashiers know what I'm doing when I try to pay with my phone. I don't like having to explain to the cashier what I'm trying to do. This, of course, will be fixed in time as more people use it and it becomes more common throughout retail.

It works great for me when I have an opportunity to use it. Just not enough places have it yet. Have not had one problem with anyone that does accept it.

i only really have used apple pay at whole foods.

even at starbucks, the ones i've been to don't have pay terminals for it.

More than that NFC tap to pay thing, which I experienced long ago when I dabbled with a galaxy nexus in the 4s era, I like being notified of when my card is charged.

It's fun to know exactly when my waiter swipes it, and its fun to see what my balance is before the bartender brings out the receipt if I'm just getting one thing and a snack and closing out my tab.

:D

its also in theory good to prevent fraud if you see notices come up you don't recognize, and i had it come in handy to correct payment at whole foods once where i was charged for a drink but also another $26 by tapping to pay before the payment came up. some weird glitch that resulted in getting a cash refund because i overpaid.

Walgreens - works perfectly for me every time
Home Depot - works but still requires a signature
McDonalds - tried it in Chicago, did not work
Apple Store - did not work, but I think the employee wasn't using the pay reader correctly

I didn't even know that was part of the feature.
