Do you use Apple Pay on your watch or your iphone ?

I use Apple Pay all the time, sometimes 1-3 times a day. And I always use it on my iPhone. I tried it on my Watch a couple of times but the readers require a little bit of Watch gymnastics sometimes so after a few bad experiences where I look like an idiot trying to convult my arm to get it work I just use my iPhone where it works every time no problemo.

Does it bother me? Nope.

I DO receive Notifications for iPhone 6+, Apple Pay purchases. Weird!

Yes, many card issuers are like that. They push notifications to the iPhone but not AW.

Amex is notorious for pushing notifications regardless of the payment method. In fact, I found it annoying that I have it turned off. I don't need notifications popping up on my iPhone whenever I'm using my physical Amex card (at places that do not take Apple Pay) or making online purchases.

This is exactly my position. Every now and again, I try to use my watch to pay (usually at a self-scan till in the supermarket so no-one witnesses my contortions); so far though, every time I've ended up getting my phone out anyway.

Used Pay on two out of three purchases today. I usually have my wallet ready just in case, but for the third purchase, I kept it in my pocket.

Now, if the corner grocery store gets Pay, I can hop over for eggs n' milk with only my keys and AW.

I'm already there, dude! I subconsciously forgot my wallet (due to Apple Pay being in there) but bought my smokes at the corner store with my AW! FREEDOM!!!:D

I've seen a couple of QuikTrip stations that take it inside. Once these gas stations start accepting it at the pump I may do a happy dance.

I don't use either. Like many other aspects connected to their products, Apple haven't made this functionality available where I live. The good thing is that when I ditch my iPhone later this year and get a Galaxy S7 Edge, my new phone will be fully functional.

There's still an active thread about Apple Pay in the UK. Biggest frustration is the lack of retailers allowing >£30 (Contactless limit), typically now, I'd guess at approx 80% of my small purchases are Apple Pay, I only use my phone in Costa as it's easier to use wallet to find my Costa card for scanning then flipping to the right card to pay.

I fail to understand why it has taken so long for contactless payment to catch on in the US. Pretty much everywhere I go has credit card terminals that are capable of it but they're not turned on. I tend to shop at Whole Foods and Walgreens now because those are two places that I can use my watch!

Interesting. I'm in Canada and have had AW for 2 weeks now and EVERYWHERE accepts it.

ie: Sobeys, Loblaws, Metro, LCBO, Canadian Tire, gas stations, my corner store and all fast food joints of course.

We were late to adopt it but it's gone full throttle. The ONLY COMPLAINT is the RIDICULOUS $100 LIMIT. WTH?

Must be a non-US thing. There's no limit with Apple Pay here in the US, although some retailers do require a signature when the transaction is over a certain amount.

Neither, I don't use apple pay, seems easier for my to whip out my credit (or atm) card.

With the new chip cards though, I've found it's much faster and convenient to use Apple Pay. The chip cards have me waiting 10+ secs while the transaction processes, which doesn't sound like much time, but when you're sitting there waiting for the transaction to complete, it feels like forever. ;)

Yep, if we were still swiping their argument that it's easier to whip out the physical card might hold water but it's now burst.

No, the point is that while places set up for Apple Pay in the UK don't have a limit, most places that accept contactless haven't upgraded their terminals for Apple Pay so the limit of £30 (which applies to contactless cards here) applies to all contactless payment.

I've had another go with my watch this last few days and it's worked fine. Still likely to pull my phone out if it's at a till with an actual person but for self-scan in the supermarket I'll happily wave my watch around.

In the US we might not have a limit but there are way too few places where you can use it. So annoying! I always use Apple Pay if it's an option, of course I don't even have to take out my phone, I just double click the button on my watch and scan. Easy peasy!

Funny, I've had no problems using my Watch to pay. Very convenient. Left my wallet at home the other day and was able to pick up veggies on the way home.

I don't understand what everyone is talking about having to contort to use Apple Pay on their watch. Mine is just a simple flick of my wrist over the credit card terminal and it beeps, enter PIN and I'm done. No contortions here!

EXACTLY! Fantastic for drive-throughs, split second. If everyone used it there'd be no lineups! :p

BP garages here in the UK have the Contactless chip/element on the (right) side of the reader. It's most definitely a contortion!
That said, I don't have to enter a pin though. Tesco terminals aside (as they take longer for some odd reason) paying by Contactless is definitely quicker than cash.

PIN is required for Apple Pay only if paying with a debit card, which is no different from using the physical card. Credit cards (at least our version which is chip and signature) do not require a PIN regardless of the transaction amount.

I think contactless by definition means no PIN, hence the low transaction limits that non-US customers speak of. I suppose that means it's inherently insecure because otherwise they wouldn't have these low limits.

Definitely Watch. Much easier and more reliable for me for whatever reason. Phone in pocket just in case, but Watch hasn't failed me once.

It's inherently frustrating though for shops displaying Apple Pay logos that don't support >£30 limits. BP is actually one given filling my car is always over that amount...
