I like having an actual clock next to my bed, and an iPod speaker, so no, I don't use my iPhone as an alarm.

I do use the timer for cooking and laundry though.

All you gotta do is pick from any of your "Custom" or "Purchased" ringtones, which are also available when choosing a sound in the alarm editing menu.

If you're looking for a way to create ringtones, not using GB, this might help you.

Seems like the majority use the default iphone app. I wish you were able to play your iPod music with the default alarm clock.

for some reason though, i still have problems with my alarm going off an hour earlier than it is supposed to. Kinda annoying.. thats for sure.

Besides that though, i love using it as an alarm.

I use the stock app.

I like it better than my old school regular alarm clock because I can set it up once for the weekdays and once for the weekends and never have to worry about changing it or turning it on or off.

i have a sony alarm clock that has a dock for the iphone, that is used Monday to Friday i use the default app for alarms outside of my normal daily Monday-Friday alarm

I have my old iPhone 3G which once I received the new iPhone 4 has been used primarily as an alarm clock.

Only recently have I used both my iPhone 4 and iPhone 3G as alarm clocks to have some sort of backup incase one dies, fails, or I forget to set one of them.

There should be a 3rd option: Only when I absolutely have to.

I doubt I'll ever get rid of my clock radio, and use a cell phone as a regular alarm clock. I have far too many "tricks" I need to make sure I'm out of bed on time (including setting that particular clock ahead a few minutes), since I have to be up so ridiculously early every day. And I can't wake up to that annoying "alarm" buzz sound - it leaves me in a foul mood all day. That said, the clock radio I have is basically a giant speaker, that I can dock my phone on, and charge it at night (or play music through).

I have used my phone in a pinch, when nothing else is available, but it's definitely not preferred.

I use mine daily, and I couldn't agree more with your wish. I think that would be a relatively easy function to implement, and I'm sure that it would make many people (including myself) very happy.

i see a few free apps in the app store that offer this feature has anyone tried them?
