Another "Yes" vote here. Someone mentioned it adds to confusion with more forums... I beg to differ, I think it makes it easier for the people who know how to read so they can easily know what section to post in and less unnecessary threads for things that don't even apply to what you're looking for (ie. iphone specific apps).

Yes. Makes a lot of sense. Consider the mess that is iTunes access to iPad apps. Discussion would be helpful.

Thanks.

Bummer that less people will see this thread now because most don't regularly look at this section.

I don't know why I chose no in the poll, but an additional iPad app only forum would be nice.

Who thinks there should be an iPad apps section of this forum?

just read the title:D

You will find many other of these threads and this should be in the feedback section of macrumors. /thread

Ummm in no way does that /thread
But an iPad app sub form is completely necessary. Too many posts about apps that aren't for the iPad (code sharing and hacks as well).

Not me! I know I am new...but I really like all things iPad related under one thread...at least for the time being. I participate in many online forums...with many thousands of posts over the past 15+ years since the early days of 8 bit Prodigy and text based usenet groups.

I am not saying one group is always the best, but one large group is desirable that the group not get divided so that we all get exposed to new postings...so both the hardware and the software junkies are available to answer.

There is not even an iPhone Apps forum.

Please consider moving the iPad Apps sub-forum to be under the iPad forum as peer sub-forums to Accessories, Hacks, and Launch Meetups. It seems to make more sense to have all iPad-related topics together.

Thanks again for the iPad app forum.

Almost like pulling teeth. :D

"Hey Mr. Dealer thanks for the car. How about some gas so I can drive it off the lot. Yeah go ahead and take all the plastic wrap off it too."

lol

Part of the problem is that the four "Apps" forums have a separate set of rules that apply to developers. That's one of the major reasons we've decided to group all third-party software together in one section rather than splitting them up as sub-forums of hardware forums.

There's also the issue that while "iPad Apps" could very logically go under "iPad" as you suggest, would you put "iPhone and iPod touch Apps" under "iPhone" or "iPod touch"? And how about "Mac Applications"? Not to mention that "Code Sharing and Software Promos" is related to all three other application forums in that section.

So, yes your suggestion is certainly a good one for the iPad Apps forum, but it creates problems when considering forum organization as a whole, and that's why we ultimately decided to do things the way we did.
