That's why I would like to see them get rid of the scaling. Supply a screen that can use the native rendering. I almost got the 6s because of that. But the plus screen at 400 dpi is so much nicer I stuck with the plus when going from 6 plus to 6s plus.

I was never a huge fan of motion or transparency. I turned those things off two years ago and never missed them. Helped speed things up. Not a huge amount, but noticible.

I am anxious for apples OLED display. Not having to power the black should boost battery life. And OLED image is impressive over LCD. It's very difficult to separate out pixel density from other screen attributes when you comparing the two technologies. Thinking sweet spot for speed, efficiency, power consumption, processor load would be a 2k OLED display set for true tones.
I'm not a fan of eye candy and turned them off in 2002, on Windows XP.

The Ipad Pro with tru-tone has the widest gamut and best color management system, reportedly supposed to be on the iphone 7. I'll take that over OLED any day, along with the graphic performance, smoothness and optimized architecture.
Look at the pic I posted above. Its easily visible that OLED is brighter and more vivbrant

Even my iPad 2 has more vibrant color, which leads me to believe there was some picture adjustment going on. I've seen the iPad Pro in the Apple Store and spent some time on it and screen quality is better than what you posted.

The pics are taken with my iPhone. They are not rigged. The iPad seems dull because it's placed next to the OLED display.I will post more pics later to prove my point

the iPad Pro is proven to have more accurate colors and better color management.
Those are just opinions. My Galaxy Tab S2 is brighter, more vivid than my iPad Pro.iPad Pro destroys the S2 in speed and apps but hands down the display is most definitely better.

Since I have heard complaints over the poll options, I have added a couple more choices, and added the ability to switch your vote over.

And aren't these "just opinions" as well?

Coming from someone who was a Samsung fan since the first Galaxy and has owned every Galaxy S and Note device since, including the S7E.. The AMOLED screens are definitely brighter and more crisp, but not enough of a difference in visual quality to justify making a purchase decision strictly based on it. I just got my first ever iPhone (6S+) about a month ago, and the overall smoothness and stability of iOS outweighs the extra screen quality of Samsung by a long shot. It would be nice to have, but I'm not bothered by not having it.

AMOLED screens can be nicer. But if the question is just about DPI, no I don't want more. I can't see the pixels at this level anyway. I believe more pixels means processor has to work harder, so there are performance sacrifices and possibly battery life issues. And for me there is just nothing I can see. Better color is nice. More pop and brightness is nice. But more pixels? Well I don't see the point.

I think they actually have colour standards that professionals adhere to, so colour accuracy is now measurable and not just 'opinions'

It's pretty much proven the iPad Pro has the widest gamut and iOS has better color management.
There is no way that iPad is at full brightness. And is most definitely at a lower setting than the other POS tablet next to it

You guys don't have to take my word for it.Heres a screen grab from a YT video
As you can see the S2 STILL manages to win in display quality Even looking at this comparison on a LCD display shows the better image quality on tab s2.The difference is even greater in real life

And aren't these "just opinions" as well?
Well yes if you actually believe that in the pics above you found the iPad to have a better display.

This is certainly not "worlds apart" that some of the posts would have one believe; even ignoring whatever the settings on the individual tablets are. And the question still remains, which is the more accurate rendition. Look at the door, different tonal quality. I'm betting the ipad has the more accurate color rendition, but since there is no comparison photo, we will never know. If the iphone 7 gets "tru-tone", it basically levels the playing field based on your YT video.

The iPad is less saturated, and the Samsung tablet looks to have some backlight problems. I have no clue what you're talking about when you say the Samsung tablet is so much better.

Ahah, see fraud at the polls. Do we show a valid driver's lic ID?

So what's with the stripes on the s2? If anyone had those four light stripes on their iPad, they would be in trading it out for another one five times over.

Yes

Under "5 - 720p (or 750p in iPhone's case)
From "5 to "6 - 1080p
Higher than "6 - 1440p (but 1080p is still good enough)

Avoiding Samsung Galaxy S8 because it might have a 4K display. I value battery life more than display. Most people don't own a 4K TV and still on Full HD. Now we need Ultra HD on a sub-"6 smartphone with a battery not big enough to power it longer? HD or FULL HD is comfortable enough for me for most display sizes.

I guess when you've been in the computer room down at the basement for so long, you forget that in real life, grass isn't really THAT green ;)

Biggest problem is the screen door effect pixel walk, interlacing issues on the iphone 6 and 5s. 6 plus doesn't seem to have it. You really only see this on cheaper quality screens, and should not be there on the most expensive phones on the market. Fix this problem Apple. In addition, full hd 1080p does look better than 720p on these phones. Give me a blind test and I can tell, and so can many others. Higher than that it probably doesn't matter.

Other phones — which also happen to have higher resolution screens — have very comparable battery life to the iPhone.

They tend to have a bigger battery too.

There is more to the screen than just screen resolution. Samsung screens are better cause they are OLED and you can do more with them such better brightness, always on pixels etc. This is why Samsung is winning the display battle, not because of few more pixels!

Glad that you quoted something that proofs my point. Below is the displaymate info on the distance.

S7 / S7 Edge

20/20 Vision Distance
where Pixels or Sub-Pixels
are Not Resolved

6.0 inches for White and Green Sub-Pixels with 20/20 Vision
8.4 inches for Red and Blue Sub-Pixels with 20/20 Vision

For 20/20 Vision the minimum Viewing Distance
where the screen appears perfectly sharp to the eye.
At 10 inches from the screen 20/20 Vision is 344 PPI.

iPhone 6 Plus / 6S Plus

20/20 Vision Distance
where Pixels or Sub-Pixels
are Not Resolved

8.6 inches
with 20/20 Vision

For 20/20 Vision the minimum Viewing Distance
where the screen appears perfectly sharp to the eye.
At 11 inches from the screen 20/20 Vision is 313 PPI.

So yeah, 5 mm (0.2 inch) makes a HUGE difference in the distance where pixels are visible - LOL. I will take graphic performance, smoothness, battery live over gaining 5 mm viewing distance any day any time.

That's the "best" argument i have heard so far. They are better, because they are oled.

Make a note people.
