I've had a CWP for nearly 20 years, I hope I never need to use it, I do not keep my hand on my gun, and I'd never shoot anybody over an easily replaceable item. If I felt I, or a family member was about to be killed or seriously injured I'd shoot, which by the way is legally when you're allowed to use deadly force. To simply protect property, no. (although in Texas, after dark, I believe you are allowed to use DF to protect property.)
On behalf of pro gun people, and responsible permit holders, which most are btw, I apologize for the few immature ones. It's entirely possibly btw, some of these ridiculous comments are not entirely true, and made by teenage wannabe arm chair commandos. People make stuff up on the net, I've heard. 🙂
I work in NYC, and take the subway regularly. You have to know sometimes when to put your stuff away (phone, ipod, or even jewelry items) its just an instinct I guess. To be honest 98% of the time I feel safe playing a game on my phone and listening to my ipod.
On another note, oddly as it sounds if I had a "new" iphone I would feel a little more uncomfortable than having a last gen. Maybe its a good thing Apple didnt redesign the 4S, now nobody knows which one I have 🙂

Agreed. There are ads on the subway here in Toronto that say you should hide electronics. But most people have them out and nothing has happened. 😀
i am never really worried about it. In one pocket I have my iphone and in another I have a .380 or either my glock under my shirt. So if they try and get me they are going to get more than they bargained for!

If that is how you truly think, turn in your permit. That attitude is why people have thoughts like they do in this thread about gun owners. Seriously I have my permit and I have no desire to ever use it.
Yeah, I define twitchy as someone who admits that if they get hit on a subway that 30+ people would be witness to him shooting someone for stealing his freaking phone. Someone who admits they walk around with their bloody hand on their holster inside their jacket frequently is TWITCHY.
Or how would you define that? Someone who admits they would shoot someone for stealing their phone stating that they were feared for their life when surrounded by 30 other people (stating the example he gave).
Yeah its costly, but its a bloody replaceable piece of equipment and if you can't afford to replace an item of that nature you shouldn't be able to afford a gun either.
If you escalate the situation to something like, walking down the street at night and you get jumped by 2 + guys THEN I can see someone stating that they were afraid for their life and the justification seems more real. But if you are paranoid to be walking around in areas with your hand constantly on your holster you should just barricade yourself inside your home because eventually someone is gonna get hurt.

It's not something I constantly worry about, but I am definitely aware of my surroundings when out in public (even before I had my iPhone). And I don't live in the "ghetto". I do my best to not be the oblivious idiot who thinks nothing bad can ever happen to her. I'd rather be slightly paranoid than unexpectedly accosted.

Well if it gets stolen, as much as I like it, it is just a phone, easy to replace, I would just walk into the store and get one.

I do. When I'm on the subway, I keep it in my pocket and I'll take it out when I reach my destination.

If someone wants to die or at least get heavily injured for utdbear0812's iPhone or iPad, it'll be that person's choice. Shooting doesn't necessarily mean killing, by the way.
Somebody was listening to music on his iPhone on the London underground, a guy asked to borrow his phone, he said no and got stabbed.
I don't get my phone out in public if I can help it, and when I do I have a tight grip on it.
