This is my most anticipated iPhone in years. Hopefully they don’t nerf the specs too much in comparison to the pro models.

Nope, I can type perfectly fine on my iPhone, or use dictation. And if I need a desktop website (rare) I just scroll to the bottom and usually there’s a little “desktop version” link to click. I haven’t used or owned a laptop or pc for almost 5 years now. I’m not a white collar professional though.
You and I can never Netflix Party :(

I actually hardly ever use a desk top or my iPad. The only time I use my desk top is when I need to access some Chrome extensions for my online business.
The less devices one needs the better. I don’t directly use my personal desktop often either, but when I need it I really need it.

What’s the perfect aspect ratio for a smartphone?
I actually started a thread based on a similar question recently, but haven’t gotten many responses. Actually, I posed the question differently. I probably should have posed it like yours, but I asked “is 19.5:9 really the ideal aspect ratio for a phone?” I argue no. The skinnier it is, the more awkward it looks aesthetically and is functionally. And I think most people watch 16:9 content on their phones so if everyone has to have the same aspect ratio, then I think it should be that to avoid black bars.

I really hope not on the smaller size. This is coming from a developer standpoint, however. Accounting for SE sizes drives everyone nuts!
What about the iPod Touch?

They have to create a distinct separation. I’m not sure if ‘Nerf’ is the most appropriate term, but they have to create a separation. If both models conflate, then that sways consumers for the cheaper model, an Apples end goal is to maximize profit by selling their most expensive iPhone. There has to be some key differentials in order to persuade consumers to finance/purchase a $1000 smart phone.

What about the iPod Touch?

That’s after having the 11 Pro I went back to a 16:9 aspect ratio SE 2020. For me a way better aspect ratio.

I’ll be honest after looking at my SE 2020 and doing various stuff on it, what would be the aspect ratio if you took a SE 2020 and just make the exact same size without the bezels.

It would be a smaller device with same screen size. Which would even more perfect for 1 hand use and comfortable pocketability.

I don’t get what age has to do with it. I am 70 years old and i wear glasses för almost 60 years. What you use your phone for should be the issue here, if you cannot read the screen.
I use my phone for calls, an occasional message, the camera, but mostly like an iPod for music and audiobooks. I don’t surf and I don’t email. Such things i do on my iPads. So even a smaller phone could do for me.

ps: most people didn’t start wearing glasses at such an early age of childhood. Many tend to have deteriorating eyesight due to age around late twenties or thirties.

iPhone 5s/SE(1st gen) too small for me now, iPhone 6s/SE(2nd) seems bigger; I need in between these. So, iPhone 12 seems nice to hold in my hand.

I've been slowly decreasing the size of my iPhones over the past few years (from an 8 Plus, to a XS Max, to an 11) and I've been increasingly enjoying my experience.

I would have considered going for a standard, non-Max Pro model this year if they kept it at 5.8", but I will likely be going for the 5.4" model this year.

Sorry for my ignorance but are the xs max and 11 smaller phones than the 8+ even though they have bigger screens?

Here’s a quick reference I made on scratch paper

I believe the proper sizing for the 5.4” iPhone 12 is about 5.15 inches tall x 2.58 inches wide x 0.34 inches deep. See this thread.

According to me, apart from the size of the screen there should be certain features in it which were not present in any of the previous versions. Then, It will definitely be of my interest.

When I came from using a Samsung S9, which I think is around 5.8", I knew I wanted something smaller that could ride in my pocket better. Enter the SE 2020. It sits in my pocket MUCH easier and with the added benefit of it being in a wallet styled case (which has eliminated a need to carry a wallet in my back pocket), then all the better!
Interesting. I also have a Galaxy S9 and that's my daily driver now due to the way convenient finger print scanner on the back(Mask friendly). Have to look into it....

Looks like definitely updated camera.

It will take a while to get used to coming from a iPhone 7 lol but I was planning on getting a iPhone 8 Plus at one stage and those are slightly bigger the 5”4!

ive never had one of the notch phones yet either so It will be a huge way of mobile for me I’m sure

I’m abit concerned about the Face ID thing with masks and well they’d work out who you are with or without any make up on lol

luckily password is there 👍🏻
So hurry up Apple with the keynote so we can all start planning our next moves lol 😝
