I don't think anyone could take over Steve's signature line ;)

True but I still wish they'd throw out a surprise once in a while!

The 4S keynote was surprising because of how disappointing the phone was.

The iPad 3 keynote was pretty predictable.

Granted I was genuinely excited when they announced the MBPr. :)

Panorama mode so that now you can take beatiful pictures wherever you are... and wherever you are not. :apple:

It could be a number of things:

-NFC (Passbook made this pretty predictable)
-Face Unlock (Patent that was filed in January, 2010 I believe...)
-Quad-Core Processor/ A6 (yeah, I know it doesn't count because it isn't technically iOS6, but maybe to accomodate a maybe-Fall iPad 4 drop?)

I'd love to see Apple incorporate Power Nap into iOS at some point, too.

exactly. Every single new iPhone has been released with new software features (except for maybe the iPhone 3G. I can't think of anything off hand... I guess the precise GPS dot? Previously your location was only approximated with wifi). But I don't think it would be quite the same as saying a new iOS 6 feature, it'll just be an iPhone 5 feature.

The biggest possibility is obviously software associated with NFC. I'm also thinking possibly panaramic picture taking.

There was the small matter of the Appstore Launching with the 3G.
Oh.. and well 3G which was kind of big as it allowed for Official international roll out. Still nothing that big.

NFC, compatible with Japan systems, would be great ... I could scrap my existing cumuting card and use the iPhone instead. Less objects in my wallet and back pack. :D. Go Apple Go

Powernap? Isn't that basically what Do Not Disturb mode is? Or maybe I don't fully understand what Powernap does since it doesn't work on my Late 2011 MBP with SSD :/

I have speculated that the two-tone back on the prototypes we've seen are for inductive charging. It would seem to make sense given that they've done away with the 30-pin connector.

Would that work without messing up the compass?

Widgets, but they won't call them widgets...they will call them Applets, or something. they need to break the row and column paradigm that has been with us forever because it is making the Iphone look sooooo dated.

Airdrop, Bluetooth file sharing, and a "file-like system so you can upload documents on an iOS device.

Well, they have already. Your phone backs up to iCloud, downloads emails and even Newsstand publications while asleep with the screen off. Power Nap is an iOS feature brought to the desktop.

What I'd like to see is automatic updating apps and iOS versions with power nap. Stick the change log in the notifications.

Also, a "close all" option when shutting down apps in the bottom drawer.

That's all I can think of.

For it to be both "big" and "unannounced" it will need to be something at the consumer level. While NFC offers some neat stuff for developers, its not a consumer thing... yet (for any percentage).

Things like Facetime and Siri were consumer level. So was multitasking and iCloud.

Isn't NFC both a developer and consumer thing? As ChristianJapan said above: "Less objects in my wallet and back pack". I most certainly believe Apple has the power to make NFC a success for consumers.

Hmm can someone find out if Siri was announced in iOS5 before the announcement of 4S?

It will prob be hardware related. When the new iPhone is announced thats when we will find out.

Yes, id love to see widgets as well as live wallpaper.
