I don't think Apple will do inductive charging. It doesn't really solve a problem, as you have to have a pad plugged into the wall anyway, and you'd have to bring the bulky thing along if you wanted to charge. I think they'll skip it and jump to true wireless charging when that arrives.

I posted this in another thread, but this WSJ article leads me to believe we will not be seeing NFC this year.

Maybe the new iPhone-only feature will take advantage of the larger screen in some way. Group FaceTime chat? Would make sense if they upgrade it to a FaceTime HD camera.

Group FaceTime chat makes sense as that would compete with Google+ hangouts. It could be activated in the same way as conference phone calls. They could make a big deal about FaceTime at the keynote with the new FaceTime HD camera, FaceTime on 3g, and Group FaceTime. Maybe more people would use FaceTime.

NFC isn't huge now, and probably won't be, until Apple releases a phone with it.

I agree. iPhone 5 won't have NFC because its not ready yet.

Android phones have it, but honestly...how many places actual have NFC and how many people actually use it, more than know about it?

Passbook is like Apple's first step into NFC.

More people would use FaceTime if Apple held up its promise and released the specification, or at least made FaceTime for Windows. But I have a feeling that since it's been over two years, Apple changed its mind.

Don't be too sure of that. They also promised that they were working with carriers to get it to work over cellular. While it took them a while, they did eventually introduce it.

Just like a man once said: "Good things happen slowly :)"

I have read what most of the key features were in the upgrade. I was suprised to see that they are adding a feature similar to SBSettings and biometric access but they felt this was not a significant feature add-on huh

I thought the topic has to do with unannounced features of iOS6.
What's with LTE? Inductive charging? Why are some speaking out of point? What (the he**) does that have to do with iOS6.

(Btw, there's LTE on iPad, and it works on (iOS) 5)

Whatever new feature they add, it will only be for the new iPhone iOS build. Like Siri for the iPhone 4S and Facetime for the iPhone 4. No one ever saw it before the announcement because no developers have those devices to test.

What are you, the forum police.

exactly. Every single new iPhone has been released with new software features (except for maybe the iPhone 3G. I can't think of anything off hand... I guess the precise GPS dot? Previously your location was only approximated with wifi). But I don't think it would be quite the same as saying a new iOS 6 feature, it'll just be an iPhone 5 feature.

The biggest possibility is obviously software associated with NFC. I'm also thinking possibly panaramic picture taking.

Good call on the panoramic feature ;) Think you're probably right!

Yes. I am glad that ONE thing we don't know about tomorrow. I'd rather be surprised.

So iPhone won't have NFC because not many places have it, but not many places because not a lot of phones have it...

Chicken and egg much? :p

maybe being able to charge your phone over wifi?
