i ordered from them on day 1, and was totally annoyed that they didn't provide an ETA, closed for 2 weeks, didn't refund my money for 2 weeks, and was unavailable for two weeks. they could've hired non-religious people to handle affairs during the jewish holiday, and there's no excuse for ignoring customers for so long. i ended up just buying the watch from the apple store but i had to drive many hours to get it.

I can see why you're annoyed but for B&H, selling Apple Watches on release date is not their primary business... they sell mostly camera equipment and some computer stuff... Yeah, they're losing out on some business by not being open during the holidays, and yeah they're holidays are lengthy, but that's their prerogative. I agree their customer service could be better surrounding these types of popular release, but 99.99% of their products don't have some crazy release date fanaticism that surrounds Apple product releases and it just might not be worth it to them to open their stores during this time. Also, it's not like they kept your money.. you cancelled... they returned your money. I don't see that they did anything wrong except not catering to your obsessive need to get an Apple watch within one month of release.

i cancelled 2 days before the holiday. i did not receive my money back until oct 8th. they told me in email it would take 3-5 business days before the holiday for my money to return into my paypal account. i filed a complaint with paypal because they did not fulfill their end.
if they cannot keep up with demand, or basic transactions, then there are consequences. i wont be purchasing release day items from them any longer. their total lack of professionalism cost me time and money. sure, they can do whatever they want with their business, and similarly, i can do whatever i want with my money.

Sure... I can see that.... Not sure how it cost you money though if you got your money back. Again, B&H would definitely not be my go-to place for launch day items in general.

it cost me money because i cancelled my apple order and stuck with b&h, and when that went belly up, i drove 2.5 hours to the nearest apple store to pick up a gold SS. then today i drove another 3 hours to a different apple store to pick up the black SS. i had originally ordered the SBSS from b&h.

Mine should be arriving later today. Imo you might as well have waited. I'm glad I did myself. I had a half second thought of driving to NJ to grab the one in stock there. Saved me ~$70 (+ gas), and who really wants to drive to Jersey anyway?

Yeah I could’ve waited but I didn’t know when the watch would arrive, plus they went MIA for two weeks. And even though I paid extra and waster gas driving to the Apple stores, I made a trip out of them/. I’m new to the area so I included some sight seeing as well so it wasn’t unpleasant.

Getting sick of waiting. Considering canceling and waiting until Black Friday to get a better deal. Plus, I’m starting to think maybe I should get the new iPad Pro instead.

Some models are still showing 4-6 weeks before shipping from Apple. I imagine B&H is lower on the totem pole.

Not sure how it usually works, because it seems like people who preordered on B&H should have higher priority than people who are just now buying from Apple.

I'll probably end up picking up a Watch at B&H given I've got a gift card that will nicely cut the price. I'm fine waiting a while though, that's the nature of things.

(It's kind of bizarre they even sell them in the first place given their focus.)

They are an Apple Authorized reseller. You can get some good deals on Macs. Video editors and photo editors buy cameras, lenses, and a lot of them buy Macs.

Got tired of waiting, cancelled B&H order and will pick up my SS w/Milanese from Best Buy tomorrow. Anyway, if anyone pre-ordered from B&H after September 14th just moved up a spot.

After seeing the invites sent out for the 30th event, I canceled my preorder. Going to put that $750 towards a new iPad Pro instead.

Yes... please keep canceling... especially the 44mm SG GPS Nike with loop..... move me up!
Sorry pal, it was the 44mm stainless steel w/ sports band :p.
But I'm thinking I'll re-assess after the October event. Maybe get a Black Friday deal on the watch.

I had placed an order on September 29th for a 40mm RG Aluminum and a 44mm SBSS. Never saw movement before cancelling today and picking up both at my local Apple store.

I ordered the Space Gram Nike 44mm on September 15, and I've received 2 emails from them since then saying it's backordered. I reached out and they said they'd be getting them 10/17. I reached out again and they said they didn't get them and don't know when they will. This is bull. And they charged me 9/15.

Seems like Apple is putting them very low on the totem pole. I don’t know that B&H is to blame, but I can imagine Apple is devoting most of its resources to filling orders placed through them directly.
[doublepost=1539971837][/doublepost]At this point, doesn’t anyone feel like ditching them to wait until Black Friday and see what kind of deal they can get?

Yeah, except that they haven't communicated at all. I'd be totally fine if they communicated.

Yeah I can agree with you on that front. I couldn’t even get an estimated time frame for mine. So I canceled it. I don’t know if it’s that they really have no idea when they’re getting them, or if they do know but they’re afraid if they tell people they’ll cancel and look elsewhere.

I was in the same boat, found two open boxes on Best Buy for the exact same things, ordered and once in hand and confirmed they were good to go canceled the order. I have bought photography from them many times and never had this happen, but sure it was an inability for them to handle the volume. The discounts made up for the tax anyway.

Good thing is the one watch was at 4% and I assume returned due to a charging issue because I could not get it to charge either. Pulled out an iPad wart, and sure enough the wall wart was defective (still wrapped in plastic), I think I have 10 of each by now.

The other was never removed from the box. Got them the next day thanks to living close to their online return warehouse.

Sometimes you get lucky. I just needed it by October 30th and it was getting a bit close so I started searching.

Both were SBSS 40 and 44 w cellular, pretty hard to locate ones.
