A year of use with this thing and mine is all sorts bent up at the corners. Makes typing incredibly annoying when it's got that ever so slight bounce on the desk. Yes for the most part I can bend it back into shape. But that's poor quality coming from an Apple product. I shouldn't be bending a keyboard back into a working condition. It's a bummer too because otherwise I have been very happy with the board.

Back in May I bought a space gray version with keypad someone was selling here. When it arrived, I examined it closely and it was perfectly flat. But knowing this issue, I measured the thickness of the rubber feet that Apple uses and bought a set of these and put two in the middle of the backside - one at the top of the KB and one at the bottom. So far, no bending and it sits nice and flat on the desk (no wobbling when I type). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014SAPVJC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The shabbiest Apple product since the self-igniting MagSafe cable (I had two of those catch fire). It sags in the middle until it touches the desktop, then the feet don't touch the desk enough to keep it from rotating while you type. Every few weeks I have to arch it up in the middle to get a couple weeks of typing without it rotating on me.

Good suggestion. In fact, after writing this I was considering adding 8 thicker rubber feet that I have already. Thanks.

By the way, here's a tip for using a MagSafe cable. Add heat-shrinkable tubing for its entire length, and keep a fire extinguisher close at hand.

Mine is bent too and doesn't stay in place when I'm typing. It's very annoying. Since the middle is dipped, the feet don't rest on the desktop causing the keyboard to spin. This thing even feels very low quality and cheaper than the non-numeric keyboard, which is very surprising and disappointing. I am replacing it with a Logitech keyboard - probably the K780. Hopefully Apple will release a new keyboard that's better quality with Touch ID - similar to the new Macbook Air keyboard.

With little to no force you can bend the Magic Keyboard back into shape. I had the same issue about a year ago and haven’t had the issue since.

For a £20 to £30 keyboard, I'd have no issue. For something that is 4 times that, it shouldn't require anything like that.

I absolutely agree, but you already have the keyboard so you might as well make it functional.

Bringing back an old thread. But wanted to see if anyone with the space grey model of the magic keyboard is still experiencing any bending issues??

I bought some thin sticky-backed black vinyl pads on Amazon and put them in the middle of mine when I first got it - so no issues. They were pads made for musical instruments. It's tough to find them as thin as the ones Apple uses on the corners

I know some that have bought keyboard recently, still bent. Must be the temperature-related during shipping or something.

But in any event, even with my own keyboard, it was very easy to bend it back into shape with light pressure. As it happens I use a solid oak desk that is not perfectly flat so being able to bend it actually made it sit better.

Nope. As long as I keep it out of my back pocket and don't sit on it, no worries... have had mine since they were available for purchase (without iMac Pro)... no issues at all.

It is still aluminum so it still bends. I recently had my original keyboard replaced under AppleCare for a different issue (the print on some keys wore off) and the replacement is identical.

Mine never bends in regular usage but as a test of my original proved, if bent, it can be gently bent back.

Hi, I am considering to get this keyboard as I cannot get the Apple Wireless Keyboard works with my MBP 16". When I type on the Wireless Keyboard, I feel like the keyboard is bouncing. How about the Magic Keyboard with numeric keypad? I bought it 1-2 years ago but returned it the next day due to the bent out of the box.

I eventually got one and had to return it because the 'N' key felt off like there was food stuck under it. I exchanged it for a new one and had the very same issue with the 'N' key, although not as bad so I decided to just keep it. It still bugs me sometimes though, but hey 🤷‍♂️. Anyway, getting back on topic, I feel like mine is either not bent enough for me to notice or it's just not bent. It's a fantastic keyboard though and I hightly recommend it. I was using a Logitech K750 before and the quality of the Magic Keyboard w/ Num Pad feels much nicer to me. If anyone is still on the fence, take the plunge and get it, preferably somewhere with a good return policy.

I bought one yesterday but looks like mine came bent out from the middle and some metal pits all over the keyboard. I'm going to exchange it today and see if the next one is better.

I just bought a Logitech MX Keys keyboard. It is very good and it is so cool that it lights up as I put my hand nearby. You should try.

Problem is that it cannot be used with the MBP 16" with Catalina. Under Catalina, it only works with the unifying receiver which I don't want to connect to the laptop all the time due to the need of an extra adapter. The keyboard works fine using Bluetooth under Windows Bootcamp. I think there is something wrong with Catalina because I have tried 3 bluetooth keyboards. None of them works without issue under Bluetooth and Catalina. They work fine under Windows and on the MBP 2010.

My Magic Keyboard with numeric keypad sits firmly on the desk with zero movement when typing. It has never gotten bent in regular usage either. I have no complaints.

I got a new one and this one seems to be better. No metal pitting anywhere on the keyboard too. It seems to be hit or miss for these kind of accessories.

Hmm that's good to know. I haven't upgraded to Catalina yet but will hold off. Since I do not want to use my MX Keys with a dongle either.

I have two MX Keys keyboards! I Love this keyboard - bought it as soon as I could get my hands on it. I use it with my 2017 MBP 13' TB with no problem via bluetooth.

It has aged really well too. Happy to see other MX Keys users out there.
