My battery looks to be dropping again at the usual pace. Doesn’t fill me with confidence that the percentage shown is accurate but at least it appears like it’s back to normal.

Me and my friend had the same issue, restarted our cars, then the cars EXPLODED and we both died!

DON'T!!!!!! restart your car.

Oh just disconnect the battery randomly and daily and you’re fine.

What did you do to make the battery drop as usual other than restarting?

Nothing. Just charged it overnight to 100%. Took a while to move off 100% this morning but seems to be ok.

I just wonder if a phone reboot causes some kind of issue with the battery calibration and takes some time to get back to normal on the percentage display.

Exactly. Same here as noted before. Everyone with this problem should charge fully to 100% and see if that helps.

I did not have this issue and now I do since updating to 15.0.1. I do not want to have to reset my phone.
Thankfully I just checked and did not update yet. I’m running my iPhone mini and 12 Pro Max on iOS 14. Now my new iPhone 13 also can’t be updated. What the heck is going on at Cupertino?

Don’t anyone say it’s work from home because I remember an iOS fiasco happening around a few years ago that pretty much destroyed my iPhone 7 Plus. It was great out of the box then was an overheating, battery draining mess after it got its first update. It never was the same and that was a phone I wanted to keep because it was a surprise gift.

I switched to 15.1 beta 2 and it seems that my battery may be back to “normal” as it is now unstuck and discharging (pretty rapidly, unfortunately). Will have to keep an eye on it. This has been the worse upgrade for me. My sister and I went together and picked up our phones on release day. She’s has no issues and I’m having a bunch. Running the betas on my 12 Pro and 12 Mini weren’t this bad.

The thread is pretty dead. Does that mean everyone has fixed the issue by charging it back up to 100%?
Looks like it, might be the only option, until apple fixes it with a software update.

That’s if they even know about it lol.

Does it work for you? Does the bug comes back if you do not charge to 100% the next charging time or is it a "permanent" one?

This was brought up in another thread, the battery in the iPhone 13 actually has more capacity then what is advertised. I looked at my battery using the CoconutBattery app on my Mac and it showed the max capacity to be 4472 mAh and its design (advertised) capacity to be 4352 mAh. This means that the battery in my phone is actually 102% when fully charged. This is part of the reason why when the phone is changed to 100% it takes a bit more time for it to drop to 99%. For me I am sticking to charging to 85% and not going lower than 20%.
