Auto brightness, True Tone, night shift all off.
Well for me after reading other person (different thread) that he did not like the 13 screen compared to the old X someone asked and he said he did not have auto brightness or True Tone on. And so I went and turned mine off and the screen is significantly dimmer and not as colorful. Now the yellow you see — well that is not related and if you are not using night shift then I dont see yellow on mine ever. Anyway just wondered what your screen looks like if you turn those on, obviously you have not used but when I transferred phones direct from 11 to 12 (before??) and 12 to 13 it asks if I want those on and I always choose on. Might be worth looking at to see if the screen looks better that way???

Yeah they farmed the low end ProMax to his favorite company Samsung LOL
I think that’s what happened and then he started throwing a hissy fit on Apple. Dude, didn’t even pay 💰 enough to Apple. Money talks. Bought a 128GB yet he’s expecting some rich, crispy, clear iPad Pro looking screen… go figure 😂

Can assure you he will not have this problem next year as he will be ordering iPhone 14 PRO MAX in 1TB with me :) @LFC2020

Thanks for the tips, I’ll look into it.

Interesting, just turned on auto brightness, my screen already looks less yellow, but dimmer than I prefer, not sure if I like it. 🤔

Off axis color shift is also happening a lot less, hmmmm.

I prefer auto-brightness on. I have it on at all times. Make sure you calibrate it too.

1- Close your room lights. Make it pitch black, dark.
2- Turn Auto-brightness all the way down. 0%
3- Toggle Auto-brightness off and on.
4- Turn on the room lights and let the auto-brightness adjust. You can also move your iPhone close to the room light to boost it up to 100%. Let the brightness adjust.
5- It is now reset into its factory settings.

I have mine set half way and that looks good on the 13 to me. But you could up it a bit if you like it brighter I think.

Below is a screen shot from my IPad Pro settings which are exactly the same as my iphone 13 ProMax set about in middle. I had it set to that on 12 so I think either it transferred or when it asked me if I wanted it on in the transfer it set at 50% mark? Not sure which.

That’s a lot of work for a non yellow screen. 😅😂

Interesting never did that I just transfer phone setups and such and then when it asked I tell turn it on and I am in my office usually with several lights on and it does it’s thing to adjust to my office and lights there where I setup my new iphone (and ipad as well). Have to admit never bothered or recall reaching the info from apple just let it setup itself for my local environment but the key is that it is on I think?

I have not looked at it for a long time but I have it on automatic so it can adjust to my local environment just always had it on (think it is either on or it always asks if you want on when you set up). But looking at the link in the above instructions I see this part that is helpful maybe for you in terms of making your screen the way you want it????

I am going back to using auto-brightness. I think it will also save on battery life.
Battery life isn’t the problem for me, been amazing, it’s this piss yellow, red tint display.

Once you get it calibrated, I find the display is not dim at all.
this stupid brightness slider keeps moving, starting to get annoyed lol, does it ever stop?

How long does the calibration period take?

Got mine on auto as well, can’t use dark mode during the day, gives me anxiety lol.

I do not see instructions in the apple link for calibration just adjusting slider and that auto means it will adjust to the ambient light in your environment. Doesn’t talk about the calibration mentioned above by theyayarealiving. I assume that when I setup the new phone it also is doing that then???
