I even now turn on low power mode when I stop using the phone for the night. Not sure if anyone is aware of this but when you turn on low power mode, the 2 performance cores in the A15 are shutdown and only the 4 efficiency cores are used. You can actually leave on low power mode when you play video games and with only the 4 efficiency cores being used at 1.83GHz, the game will maintain a perfect 60fps.

Watch this video it is very interesting. The A15 is a beast even in low power mode.

Very interesting! Does that help if you are not using your iPhone?

Might come in handy if you don’t charge your phone in the morning or daily.

I always charge mine every morning.

Yes it will turn off certain things to save battery life. I am now having my phone go into low power mode after it finishes charging over night. This will help save battery. No reason to waste battery when you are not using the phone.
But I leave my phone charge overnight. Is it still going to help me?

I use a HomeKit Smart Plug that I have set so that it automatically starts charging at around 6am and shuts off the charger when it reaches 85%. This way the phone does not sit on the charger with it on.

I ran geek bench in low power mode. The A15 is on par with the Snapdragon 888. In low power mode, the A15 uses about 3 watts vs 9 watts for the 888.

My OCD won’t allow me to charge to 85% lol

Has to be 100% every day. 🤦‍♂️😂

Also, it might help your battery charge faster if certain things are turned off by low power mode. Mainly I want to use low power mode after my phone finishes charging because I charge it while I am sleeping and low power mode will use less battery after the phone is charged. The other key point is that once my phone has finished charging the power to the charger is turned off.

I don't use Optimized Battery Charging. I don't need because my phone never sits on the charger after it completes charging. I am doing the same thing but I want to control how much to charge the phone which is not 100%.

I am not going to use fast charging. I use either a 5 watt or 12 watt charger. Less heat is better for the battery. It was discovered that the iPhone 13 Pro Max can charge up to 27 or 29 watts. This is up from 20 watts used on the 12 Pro Max.
