I haven't used my iPad much at all for the last year or more. Not because of screen size. Usage started declining when I got a 6s plus in march 2016. I would go to use it and try to use 3D Touch for something and it spoils the there naturally, so I'd put it down and pick up my iPhone. Even more so now, as the hardware home button feels cheap to me now, it always has to an extent, but now that there is something to compare it to, even more so.

I'm new to the plus size iPhone now (iPhone 7 Plus). I find myself rarely using my iPad Air 2 anymore. Is this typically what most plus users have gone through?

I have a 7 plus, I still use my iPad at home for reading. I use my iPhone for mobility.

Really? I feel like the plus is good enough but I'm considering the pro for drawing. I've already replaced my air with MacBook for word docs and Apple TV for Netflix, my plus works for on the go.

What is good is we all have choice. I find that office and home desktops are still required with two 9.7 Pro's and a MacBook Pros for backup.

I f you can just get by with your iPhone . . . . More power to you!

I used both at the same time just last night, one to stream the debate online, one to read this forum.

I find myself in exact situation as the OP. Moved from i6 to the 7 plus and now use my iPad Air 2 much less. I still use the iPad, but mostly for business e.g. PowerPoint, Word and Excel. So still will keep the iPad.

But a lot of things I did before with the iPad like using Safari, Forum's, Facebook etc. are now very convenient on the iPhone (bigger size and longer battery life).

think the combo of

7 plus
pro 9.7
macbook

is a good trio and done for different needs when i had the 12.9 i felt my macbook was never used

I don't use iPhone and iPad, period. MacBooks are far more superior to both iOS devices that lacks ways to transfer files to my two of external hard drives and lacks torrent apps unless jailbroken. Drag and drop is so easy for me and FAST....

Glad to see so many active threads about Mac as of late. Macs need computer love from us. I believe Apple makes better computers since that is where Apple was born from than they do at making smartphones and tablets. I leave phones to the pioneers like Motorola and Nokia. It is true what people say about Motorola and Nokia. My Motorola gives me the strongest reception in my room known for zero signal in some spots. While my Nokia has the clearest voice quality like I was talking on a landline. Just ignore iPads and go directly to Macs since having an iPhone Plus and iPads seems overkill similar to having an iPhone and iPod touch.

Oh, come on. Did you ever try to put a Macbook in your pocket? Can you make a call with your Macbook when you're out of wifi range without a ton of external gear? Anyway, mainframes are "far more superior" (whatever that means) to OS X devices. Why buy a gimped laptop when you can run Watson?

Some boat. Sold my iPad Air 2 like 3 weeks ago and I don't miss it. Became redundant juggling 2 devices. For periods of time the tablet would collect dust.

Ugh, I can't stand phones larger than 4.5in. I'm just waiting for the SEs to be refreshed with (hopefully) Matte black, 3D touch, and 2nd gen TouchID to replace my 6S. The size really does drive me bonkers. It wasn't easy going from my 4S to it. For me, A 4in. 16.9 display is my sweet spot for a phone not to mention that the idea of having to get a bigger phone that you don't want just to get better features, is one of the stupidest marketing scams ever. I hate when companies do this. Apple pretty much murdered their not that old iPad Mini line with the 6Plus.

I did like two years ago but now I have the iPad Pro 12.9 lol and switched to the smaller 7. Picture editing from my DSLR for the most part and a larger screen for traveling.

I've been using the Plus for last two years so that made my previous iPads obsolete

Never used my iPad much even before I got the Plus model iPhone, so it will probably surprise nobody to find out my Plus has replaced my iPad completely. My iPad was my hearthstone / ascension machine. Now I can play both well on the plus, it's gone into the closet for good.

While I have an iPhone 7, my iPad Air 2 is still my preferred media consumption device.
  • I like my iPhone for convenience on the go, and for photos, and it's small enough to not be a bother.
  • I like my iPad for streaming, internet, quick, photo editing, MRF, etc. the larger screen is just better.
Getting an iPhone 7+ would be a compromise--for me--on both fronts. It would be more cumbersome for the phone usages and a smaller screen for the iPad usages.

iPad Air 2 is for when I'm front of the tv
iPhone 7 plus mostly used when out the house
MacBook Pro 15 when I'm at my desk

I have the iiPad mini 3 and until I get the new mini Pro, I won't be using my iPad. POS is slow (despite having an A8) and no split screen

I have an iPhone 7, 6s, and 6 Plus that replace it easily
