I think this needs a separate thread. Since DSM and Selfridges are both not related to the Apple Online Orders we are discussing in the UK thread.

And it's clutterring up with different discussions.

(And the Americans have a separate Maxfield thread so why can't we?)

Okay so here's what we know:

DSM - Stocks Watch Sport 38/42mm at least once a week (probably the day after Apple ships watches to everyone who got their watch dispatched THAT week). They also stock the :apple: WATCH SS range, but it's random. Like sometimes they stock Classic Buckle, sometimes they stock Milanese Loop.

You have to book an appointment IN STORE up to one day in advance, 1 watch per customer, Photo ID required.

Selfridges - ONLY stocks Watch Sport 38mm, limited colours. Last time I went, they had WSB, PSB and BSB. No appointment required to get your watch.

I have an appointment today. Wish me luck!

Actually - Selfridges also stock the 38mm WATCH in both colours. They are also open about stock levels if you call them on the phone.

DSM will NOT divulge any information unless you are attending an appointment.

DSM have the SG Sport? As I would travel the 2 hours to the market for an appointment but then dont fancy coming BACK a week later to get the watch itself

I just called the Apple Watch at Selfridges store, they have in stock:

38mm Apple Watch Sport (Silver)
White Band
Green Band
Pink Band

None of the space grey or 42mm models

So, just got back from DSM.

Luckily I only work a street down so pretty easy to get to.

I have already recd my apple watch (SS BCB) but I went in to see what they had.

As already mentioned they have sports and BCB. The lady asked if I had an appointment and I said I had one, but I wasnt able to make it a week or so ago.

She said as I had made an appointment I could make a purchase if I wanted.

I was in two minds about it as I don't need another one obviously, but I thought it would be silly to pass up on a free offer. I bought one, walked up to CEX off oxford street and sold it for £165 more than I paid....I know... I've turned into a scalper. But I had no intention to originally.

Point of the story- if you've had an appointment at DSM and they didnt have your watch at the time, if you go back they will sell to you if you explain and say that you had an appointment, etc...

David

Well congratulations. Before my appointment, one of the two people got the last 42mm SS CB. If you didn't scalp, I would have gotten the last one.

Damn. That was some real bad luck.

And that's a wrap - because the CB was the only 42mm Watch model they had left as of today. So anyone with an appointment for tomorrow is really wasting their time (unless they wanted 38mm)

Damn. That was some real bad luck.

Did you physically (with your own eyes) see the person in front of you purchase it? If yes, that's unluckly!

If not, and you were simply told this by a member of staff - then don't listen to a word of the b*** spewing out of their mouths!

They can't lie, it was my appointment. Why would they lie for? Not that it matters because I saw one of them at the till with it.

they have be known to

They do lie to the ones who don't have an appointment with them. But two staff double checked the stock at the back of the till, they have no more.

Frustrating. WHY did this happen to me out of all people?! I was SO close. I feel like crying.

c'mon don't be naive, you're the thread starter (good move to have a separate one BTW).

Making up stories re: 42mm is simply the staffs new game. They know the scalpers don't want 38mm at the moment.

But I'm not a scalper. They can't just assume that everyone who wants a 42mm is a scalper. I just want my watch, and can cancel the two orders I have online. URGH.

And read above, unless the two staff made an act about going to check stock at the back.

Rebook another appointment. Such is DSM, it's a frustrating joke.
Did they have no other styles at all? (I think the answer is no - as when I checked that was the case, but who knows when it comes to these people!)

I actually think when DSM run out of stock they should contact the people who have appointments for that day and offer them a chance to reschedule. They know all people want to do is buy the watches now, people have already tried these on

I asked if they have any 42mm's in stock, and they said 'no, we just given the last one away unfortunately' something like that and I went "really?" and walked straight to the till and saw that last SS model they have with 1 person.

I agree with this so much. Although this wouldn't affect me today if they added this rule from let's say last Wednesday.

I can't book another appointment tomorrow. Now it's not the time, they are out of stock. When the order thread gets PFD posts again, that's when I book.

Lol.. leave it out. I had just as much of a right to purchase as you. I had made an appointment fair and square originally.

You could have the same go at just about anyone who's purchased from DSM. They got there before you. **** happens. Re-book and try again.

Please help a poor Italian boy

Hi everybody,
I'm planning a trip next week from Italy to London to buy a Watch @DSM. Since it's almost impossible to understand anything from here.. do you think I will have any chance to find a 42mm Sport? The only thing I understood is that you have to go there, get an appointment and cross your fingers.. I'm going to be in London Tuesday and Wednesday only
Thank you very much!

DSM is a lottery. I wouldn't plan a trip just for this. Better off going to a CEX

I bought three watches from DSM, all 38mm. 42mm supplies seem to be limited, and demand is high.

All supplies are limited, it's just that no one seems to want the 38mm.

How come you bought three?

I sold the first one, to cover the cost of my own watch. The second one was for me, and the third for a friend (I was able to buy both at my second appointment). I ended up selling the second one and buying a re-sold 42mm, and my friend doesn't want the 38mm SS so I'm going to offload that too. EBay must love me.

Bought myself a 38mm Silver Apple Watch Sport White with an additional Black strap today at Selfridges :)

Whether the purchase was to scalp or not doesn't really matter. I think the real issue is just that you were too slow and lost out. Bummer!
