Last night, on the 16th of Jan, I opened up iPhoneDrive and scanned my iPod Touch as iTunes showed an extra 90 odd MB of 'Other' in the coloured bar. I found a Downloads Folder (Even though Safari cannot download Items, and iTunes uses a Different One in the System) and it contained a blank Manifest.plist file. Could anyone scan their iPods WITH the Jan Upgrade and see if the Manifest file is in the Downloads Folder of Advanced Mode in iPhone Drive and see if it is Blank or Not? If it isn't then maybe copy that file and place it on another Non-Upgraded iPT and see if the Apps arrive? If they do then it would be stress of peoples shoulders and gratitude would come your way from the Thousands (maybe even Millions) of Apple Fans and Angry Apple Fans around the globe.
Cheers
That the Download is just an Activation of the Apps by Adding a few lines to the Plist file inside the iPod, put there by either Apple or iTunes 7.5/.6. Maybe if someone figured out how to copy the Full Plist file to an iPod with a No System Plist, maybe that is how people might upgrade for free or via a Rapidshare or Torrent. Moves like this promote Apple's worst nightmares such as Jailbreaking the iPod Touch or getting software Pirated from them. They are trying to stop the Piracy and Jailbreaking, then why make these Bad Moves which promote it?
P.S. - Thanks 'gnuguy' for the Research.
P.P.S. - Cheers!!!!
Yeah, we believe so. It's almost like they have the Apps "hidden" like in Customize. Were working on it at full stream.![]()
