Eminem being the first interview on Beats 1 is really smart on Apple's part. He rarely does interviews and has an ENORMOUS worldwide die-hard fan base.

When is the interview? Cause if it's around the launch of the service, good chance most people will not have updated to 8.4. Eminem smart, launch the service within one hour of making 8.4 available, dumb.

On another note, doe anyone actually know what "the chronic" actually is?

(I do, and it is 'somewhat' illegal, depending on what state you are in, and still federally illegal...lol)

Apple, has an exclusive deal for an album who's title is about illegal drug use...especially it was in 1992!

I do! LOL.

Some of you people need to get off your high horses about Dr. Dre. The facts are he's on the level of Kanye West or Rick Rubin in the producing field. He's produced some of the best and most influential albums of all time in hip hop for Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and 50 cent. The Chronic is considered a landmark album in hip hop history with Death Row and the rise of G funk and gangsta rap in the mid 90's. Not to mention he was a head honcho at Death Row records which produced albums like All Eyez on Me by 2Pac, and Aftermath which put out albums by Eminem and 50 cent which were huge successes. Just because you don't like a genre of music doesn't give you the right to criticize anything someone does. He's made close to a billion dollars and is a head honcho at Apple too.

The reaction here is this negative towards Dre, but Eminem being the first radio interview doesn't get the same people riled up? Complaining about this album and it's misogyny and violence but staying quiet in regards to Em lol.

If you don't like the music, you don't like the music. Some don't like Elvis, some don't like the beatles, some don't like rock, some don't like hip hop. pick your lanes and enjoy, and let others do the same in their own.

Dre is where he is for a reason. He was spoken to by Steve Jobs to launch iTunes for a reason. He went from stuck in the streets to billionaire for a reason..

Why would it be? The Chronic is frequently listed as one of the best albums of all time.

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/l...all-time-20120531/dr-dre-the-chronic-20120524

Some even argue it's the best rap album of all time:

http://www.laweekly.com/music/why-the-chronic-is-the-greatest-album-in-rap-history-2412049

The Chronic checks in at 138 on the to 500, not bad

and a Captain Beefheart album ranks much, much higher (#60)...Yet the popularity of C. Beefheart is not so great.

and Public Enemy's "It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back" (a rap/hip-hop album) is #48 all time.

Well it's not exactly Brahms is it...

But then most people actually paying for music aren't 1000 years old like I am, so I suspect Apple knows more about what who they're selling to wants to hear than I do.
Brahms is a lot cooler than most, including Dr. Dre(despite the power of "The Chronic").....
I feel old for being a Steely Dan,JT,Tom Waits kinda guy, but that's not old age .... just good taste.

You sound very old fashioned. I'm a white 29 year old and hip hop has had a major influence in my life and the lives of most people under 35 in terms of what they listen to. Misogynist and violent lyrics are what they are. In Dre's time it was cool to be edgy.

Old, but much more cutting-edge than you ever were, sorry just being truthful. Beefheart was the very first alt-rocker...and you did not know that, did you.

How old is Dre?.........................let me help you with that, he is 50. and I am a rather youthful 47. check my blog and website, do you know many 47 year old visual designers and web developers?

I like Zappa and stuff like that. I don't understand your problem with Dr. Dre and hip hop. Not to mention the fact that Dr. Dre started Apple Music to begin with.

I have no problem with Dre.

Going back to my very 1st post, all I said was that in 2015 this album is not very cutting edge, that is all.

The bolded part of your post is the key takeaway from the original idea here, IMHO.

It's the worst thing that Apple could do. All streaming services will have a few exclusives and people will not want to sign up to two. Another problem will be when they licence music for a certain time and then might suddenly disappear from your playlists.

Apple has one big advantage and that's why they drive this. They have a music store integrated while Spotify only has streaming. So it will be simple to add the few missing titles/exclusives via purchases and Spotify is missing out.

I would like streaming services where you always have the full catalogue and choose by ease of use, interface, price, quality of music, streaming speed, ... but that would be too customer friendly.

I find myself ashamed to be a part of the Apple community when I see the number of thinly-veiled racist and ignorant comments here. If you don't like Dre, no one is going to force you to stream his album. If the Beats headphones are too "ghetto" for you, then don't buy them.

Most people talking **** about "The Chronic" haven't listened to it.

Ignorance.

I believe there are 2 views; group A that bash the music because of it's content and group B that bash Apple for releasing such content after the entire flag fiasco last week.
I love the music because I grew up with it but I have a problem with Apple and their polices. Tim Cook and company are hypocrites. One week you ban content over a flag but this week you approve of music that is so offensive you won't let your teenage kids listen to it. That's the problem I have with Apple.
If I was to post the lyrics to songs from NWA/Dr. Dre I would be banned for a few days. Who is doing the cherry picking at Apple to decide what's right and what's wrong with content? Hell; let's put some 2 Live Crew up on the mix while we're at it.

That's why taking down a flag won't do jack $h*t in this country, but I digress.

I currently use Deezer Elite through Sonos for CD quality FLAC streaming. Once Sonos is supported later this year and Apple Music offers CD quality FLAC streaming on Sonos, I would love to switch to Apple Music.

CD quality FLAC makes no sense on mobile streaming, but makes a huge difference at home listening through home system.

I liked 2001. Don't have any others, but I may end up giving them a chance ... we'll see, but I'm more of a fan of the Roots, A Tribe Called Quest, Mos Def, etc. style. So, overall, my reaction to this one is, "Meh".

Lol. The music glorifies such actions.
I find it ironic that these thugs complain when someone illegally downloads their tracks without paying yet they just told me that they robbed a bank and made a clean get away. The fools are the ones glorifying the action. So I have no feelings when thug artist have their music illegally downloaded.
And I doubt that thugs attempting a real drive by is listening to classical music; their rocking thug life music.

Just go ahead and say it, man. Just say "******".

Btw, how many thugs do you know making billion dollar deals? Exactly.

When did they add that? I haven't checked since iTunes Radio first launched. Back then whenever you started a station it played the same songs in the same order every time and they were all censored

Been there since day one and it's a lot better. Yes, in the beginning they played the same songs but now it very diverse and you have options to tune it for more discovery or to just play hits. It being a free option, kinda hard for me to consider a paid alternative.

It's almost as if Tim Cook is purposely trying to ruin Apple with these idiot decisions and business associations. Such low-class trash.
