A sure sign of aging is the tendency to think about the hangover before it happens. In your case, dobbin, you must be about a day old.

I don't drink much these days - maybe just 2 cans of beer or cider on a saturday night at home.

When I go out though, once in a while, I like to drink a lot and get really drunk!

On saturday I'm having pre-Christmas celebrations with friends and we will drink 2 or 3 bottles of wine each during the afternoon and then go out to the pub and drink as much beer/cider as we can fit in! Probably about 6 pints. By that time I'll be so drunk I cna hardly hold a pint, so I might have a few bottles of alcopop through a straw, maybe a bacardi breezer or a smirnof ice. When (if?) I get home, I'll eat lots of cheese with a glass or two of port.

On Sunday I'll feel like a horse has s*** down my throat and stamped on my head.

Thats fun. I think.

Oh yes. That really sounds like a lot of fun...

Seriously. What is the point of getting drunk:confused:

Stop judging people by their choices...
IMO to drink is nothing wrong if you know how to do it moderately, same for almost everything in life...

I drink, moderately, however, no one is entitled to bash another person for having different life choices right?

You're telling me you've never had a coffee? a cigarrette? a headache pill?

They're all drugs :)

I think i am normal, i drink 2 times a week normaly but when i travel i will normally drink everyday. I migth have 6-8 beers on Friday and 12 on tuesday or something like that. Some of my friends drink daily, 12 beers everyday since i knew them some drink once a week. One only drinks whine while others drink anything (and i mean anything)

This is a pretty funny post. I'd say you're considerably over the norm, although probably in line with many early-to-mid twenties people in the US.

"12 beers on Tuesday" is the part that I find hilarious. You drink 50% more on Tuesday than you do on Friday? Geez, do you have work on Wednesday morning?

I'm not judging though. When I was in college I scheduled no classes on Tuesday mornings for 4 years straight so that I could go to the all-you-can-drink beer & all-you-can-eat wings special on Monday nights. We could drink about 15 beers on a night like that.

These days I generally go out for drinks twice a week (beer and mixed drinks) and I usually have a few drinks at home during the week also (beer and wine). Drinking in moderation, especially drinking red wine, can be quite good for your health.

"Everything in moderation except moderation itself"

I drink loads. pure orange, Volvic, Innocent smoothies, Feel Good Drink.

I drink no alcohol. I see no point in it. Plus I prefer keeping my mind in a fully functioning state. Too busy with writing, developing a game and running a little design company. No time for out else :D

Actually, no :p

Headache? Drinking 2 litres of cold mineral water sorts it right out. Don't have caffeine. never a cigarette (even the slightest whiff of the stuff gives me a sore throat for days).
Lots of things are drugs. But to actively take them, I dunno, it just sounds like something is missing from that person. With all the activities me and my friends do and all the hobbies I have and things I do (learning instruments, going university) I just don't see how drinking can make it better. Maybe it's just me. but if I'm feeling stressed I won't drink, I'll do a bit of mountaineering. If I'm worried I'll go for a run or play with the dogs. Like taking headache tablets, like anything, there is always a better alternative and it just seems sort of shallow on the binge drinkers part that they do what they do. Meh.

Now I'm no alternative-medicine nutter. If I did get cancer or something I'd take proper medicine.

how do you get around that then?

do you stay at home all the time? lol!! smoke is everywhere..

i'm no smoker and can't really stand the smell that much, but if i'm out and about in a pub/bar, then u just have to live with it (till next year anyway).. even the no-smoking area's are crap as the smoke still travels across :(

i dont binge drink and i dont drink cos i have to..

i drink cos i want to.. and enjoy the fine wines/ales/spirits on offer..

tbh, there's no way i can drink nearly as much as i could about 8-10 years ago at uni.. damn.. i look back at that, and wonder if i was an alcy :p hehe..

its all about responsibility :D

I drink Stella Artois from time to time.

Ahh, a pint of the ol' Wife Beater!

Stella's not too bad a beer based on availability. But really I prefer some of the local Kentish beers which crop up as 'Guest Ales' in the pubs here. Fruitified beers are lovely - there's a brewery somewhere down Ashford way which makes a gorgeous raspberry beer.

Really though, I loves me some whisky. Don't take that as a sign of some sort of feigned sophistication... I'll drink pretty much anything (once), including a nasty strawberry concoction which Marks & Spencers came out with last summer (blech!). For enjoyment, give me a nice red wine or a few fingers of Talisker or Laphroaig.

Quantities? Not as much as I used to... my university days involved evil amounts of alcohol consumption and hilarity. Nowadays, I'll probably drink once or twice a week... sometimes skipping a few weeks if money's tight. If I *do* drink twice in a week, only one outing will be a proper three-sheets-to-the-wind affair... 5 or so double whiskies and a couple of beers.

Double Tall Captain and Coke would be my most recent favorite. About 4 of those will do the trick quite nicely. And I'm pretty partial to Martinis. As far as beer, I like the wussy American beers for just going out having a good time, but with food I'll take a Guinness any day.

Lately I've been getting faced about two or three times a week, but generally, when I'm not going through a life crisis, I only go out maybe once a week or once every other week.

4 Captain and Cokes
or
6 - 8 Beers, And a few shots (Red Bull and Jager)

That much drinking more than a night or two a week will make you go broke!
