Why hasn't one of the Apple rumor/news sites had a team parachute in or send in some commandos to see what is hidden there? It shouldn't be that difficult. :p

Im betting you could fly a drone in there with wifi and get enough video to see whats up. You might not get it back but it would be funny as hell to see someone try it.

Depends on what your definition of 'massive' is but to me it doesn't look particularly massive compared to the other buildings....but hey that's just me!

given their homekit api, a model home space makes sense.

set up each wing with a different partner's devices

and being this big they have space for entire rooms with various sensors, you can have self contained smoke for smart smoke detectors, different temperature zones, etc

Drones seem to be being used everywhere from the battlefield to stalking celebrities to trying to unravel the latest Apple products.

Pretty neat stuff, and covering Apple events now.
I am going to ask for a drone for Xmas, hopefully my wish will come true.
This one will do nicely...DJI Phantom

Plot Twist - The drone footage is of Apple's new drone production facility.

Makes me wonder if they created a building to simulate a (Nordstrom?) shopping experience with iBeacons and the new NFC payment system on the iPhone 6/iWatch.

Or more like a mock-up home. Ever go to a Home Contractor's trade event and some companies' trade show space contains huge mock-up homes with half the house cut-away so you can see inside each room.

Wonder if Apple will walk us throug each room showcasing iBeacons/NFC tech?

I suppose it was a matter of time before folks started flying these over Apple. Next thing will be Foxcon getting flyovers!

Thats not going to be a stage. Just think about it, such a big stage but where is the crowd for the band gonna go? On that little bit of street? And the sound would suck with a direct building against the stage side. If there is an act its better to perform in the flint center.

I doubt it's a performance stage for the musical act at the end of the keynote. How awkward would this statement be at the end of the keynote -- "Ok, everyone, come join us outside for a special performance."

I'm thinking it's probably a demo area for the press.
