Actually what it looks like is a temporary Apple Store.
Would fit in with the NFC too.
Look closer you will see lots of power and A/C going into the structure.
Could be for a stage but with the two wings I think not.

My money is still on a performance stage for U2 and makes me wonder why Apple went through all this trouble just for them.

This is what I think it is too. Show off all the rooms and devices that can be linked and connected to the iPhone/iPad devices. Maybe even have a car setup to show off iOS in the car. Maybe stuff for those who are attending to demo themselves?

The drone footage didn't reveal it. It's not like it's some magical building that can only be seen from the air.
I don't think its a stage. Where would people watch it from? There is no space for a crowd of any size.
I hope it is a store NFC / home automation (home would be more interesting though, IMO) demo and not just a stage for a musical performance or fashion show.
