Nuther ping on my credit card

For the last week or so, I had not seen any pending charges from Apple on my credit card. It was pending and then not pending and pending and then not pending.

In the last hour or so, it is now pending again. Maybe this is a good thing, maybe it is not.

Apparently, trying to predict a process (2.5G Apple shipping) that seems to be out of control is not a good way to make a living.

No conclusions, no speculation, just some raw facts.

Actually according to Apple this is NOT done as a courtesy. They state that THEY are filling orders in the order they received and according to their records NO ONE has received orders out of order. And that they would be every interested in finding out who received them out of order.

Pruedential Securities just put out a not of G5

saying availability of G5 worse than expected. I bet you a G5 (if you got one to bet) that he is reading this thread.
 
110pm USA Mountain time.....no ship announcements yet.

I'm amazed. With 55 "on or before" 8-20 here on the 16th, and no ship announcements from anyone today, except two over the weekend.

(crossing fingers for good news)

There is also a movie containing the sound, but that's rather stupid, as I have no clue at what level he recorded it, and I don't know at what level i'm supposed to be playing it to be accurate...

Wait until it gets to be 4 or 5 P.M. That is about the time when FedEx picks up the shipments from the Fullerton warehouse in California.

The last person who had their order ship from California noticed the change in their order status around 5:15 P.M. CST. Also, when my bro had his iPod ship from the Fullerton warehouse it was picked up at 3:29 P.M. PDT.

We still have a few more hours till you can start complaining... 😎

Yes I know, when my 1900xp (cough) boots and shows me my desktop, it takes another 20 or 30 seconds to build up my desktop. And on that G5, it shows ur wallpaper, and instantly comes up the dock and the desktop icons.

Boom, it's amazing!!

Let me tell you my story and why I want it.

I placed an order on 6/30 from the EDU store. I received the original 8/20 email and then then the follow up 8/2 email. However my machine was never shipped. I was told that my machine should have shipped on 8/2 and would push my machine ahead in production. However, I have NOT received my order yet and I was told last thursday it would ship this week... (Note this week ends with the 20th)

I also commented to Apple (btw I have been dealing with Sarah who is a supervisor at the apple store, I have her extension number if you would like to verify my story.) that I believe Apple is sending out orders out of order (which would indicate that they are based on people claiming they ordered after 6/30 and having received them) So she said if I can provide her an order number of someone that ordered after mine and received it she would find out the details.

Folks, again I am not trying to scam anyone. I just want to make Apple accountable for shipping orders out of order. Thats why I only asked for order numbers that people HAVE RECEIVED already. And if you feel uncomfortable with that I can provide you with Sara's phone number and you can give her your order number directly and not me.

Please I would really like to "blow the whistle" on this whole fiasco. I am pissed that people who ordered AFTER me have received their machine with no explanation.

Your request sounds very legitimate to me Joe. Hopefully someone will be able to assist you in this matter. If I had ordered and received a G5 would be willing to assist. Don't see any problem occurred if a person call a Apple Supervisor directly. It would be obvious that the call is going to Apple.

If you are truly being treated unfairly by Apple, someone should be willing to assist. Maybe then Apple would compensate you in some manner.

Apple tried to put a hold on the money for the order this morning! 😀

But, it was declined... 🙁

I called, and the authorization went through. 🙂

Looks like mine will be shipping today or tomorrow...

That's impressive. Cold boot times are a lot less important than they used to be, but that is pretty quick.

I turn on / off my mac maybe 2 times a month at most. Basically never unless I am going away on vacation.

Latest word from ClubMac...

Well, I haven't written my ClubMac rep in over a week so i dropped him a line today to see if he's heard anything new. Here is his response...

"We just received a shipment of the new 23" apple displays, so we're hoping
the shipment of the G5's will arrive shortly as well. No tracking info on
it as of yet, but I'll definitely be keeping my eye on it for you."

Not as good as "Its on its way!" but still much better then "Not until September"
