This sucks.

DWKlink said:Hey GeckoHD - just curious. Given your later ship time and your upgrade already to the 9800XT, have you considered just waiting a few more weeks and coming up with just another $150 to do the 6800 upgrade. Seems like with all your spending, it wouldn't be too much more of a cost, and from the reviews of the 6800 that i've seen, it would be a very significant upgrade.
Mr MacNabbit said:Yeah, although that would put his order even further back in the queue.![]()
Mr MacNabbit said:Is the difference between the 9800XT and the 6800 really that significant? - I havent seen any benchmarks between the two - are there any?
DWKlink said:I wrote my reseller this morning to see whether he's gotten any update - I'm still waiting to hear back. Last word from him was "very late july." I will keep you guys posted with what i hear.
DWKlink said:I agree with you. Which is why I'm just getting the stock 9600xt. When that can no longer handle what i throw at it, I'll upgrade for much less money.
For someone who feels they need the power of the 9800xt now, it just seems like you might as well get the 6800. On a $3300 machine, $150 more is not that much. Plus, if you ever fall into some really large pile of cash, you can get yourself one of those 30" displays, and have all the power you need to run it.

Anyways, my point is I have no idea when I'm suposed to get itseeing i didn't send in the order, it's comming with the stock video card so I imagine it'll be in one of the first shipments... You should all feel lucky you can look at your estimated shipping date...
Jeremy... waits....
Hehe, even in your dreams you have to wait an extra two daysbelair said:Oh man. I dreamt last night that I actually went to my reseller to pick up my G5. As I held the box in my hand I was so excited. But then I thought : wait a minute they are supposed to arrive on Friday not Monday
It's a new marketing ploy by Apple: Here's our product, order now!DWKlink said:Clubmac now says first week in August - which I guess is next week. He said that it wasn't their fault, that Apple keeps pushing the date back.
I guess that someday we'll get our computers...

Since, I have only had my macs ship on time... In the past, when there have been delays and pushbacks, do they really wait till the est ship date to notify buyers?
TIA
