Careful about that. Sometimes when a ship-date moves REALLY far back, it ships within a few days. That's happened to several people on this board, myself included. On 8-20 mine was pushed back to 9-27, then on 8-21 it shipped. Two-day FedEx got it here Tuesday the 24th. Done and done.

Do the 2.5's serial ata controller suport hardware raid? :confused:

to bad he called 1 min before closing time :rolleyes:
so i have to wait untill tomorrow to pick it up

for the stats it has 9800xt and BT
rest is stock config

WOOOOW, congrats dude, that makes me extremely happy!!

Why? Because you are the first person from the benelux who got his machine from a reseller!!! Can I ask you what reseller it was, and how much they got in?

My reseller thought they would be getting some in by mid-september, but since yours has arrived, I have good hopes for mine..

and for ge4-ce and macetaria of course!

I called at 9:00 EST and after being put on hold while i was transferred to a customer service rep i was told he had to wait for his supervisor to come to attempt to expedite the order.

So now I'm waiting for them to call back.

If they miss the 9/3 ship date I'm just going to cancel and wait for the next revision. I'm not going to have any time to use it after school starts on tuesday anyway.

At this point its just not worth it.
 
i didn't get anny estimated shipping date
my reseller told me somwhere at the end of juli / begin of august
when i called them (8/7) for estimated shipping date
the answer was: whe don't know, could be tomorrow could be at end of month (they realy don't have a clue until it's there)

That's too bad, cause I'd like to know in advance, I ordered through work, and they are (initially) paying for it, so if it comes tomorrow, i'll have to ask the boss to go to the bank, get a cheque, and then I can go and receive my goodies... If it comes on friday, and it's a surprise, I won't be able to pick it up until monday evening :)

You are not due till the 13th but I got a gut feeling yours will be announced early next week.
 
If my "On or before" date is September 8, next Wednesday, and Monday is Labor Day, and provided all is cool, when should I get some sort of email saying "it's out the door."?

I know this is hard to predict but anyone have a feel for what the average has been? Should I be getting on the phone with my Apple Store rep?

As I count down the days until next Wednesday, the anticipation is just starting to really really drive me nuts.

I am going insane! How can I place an order an hour after a product announcement and still be waiting while so many others who ordered much later already have their machines? I now have my copy of the Production Bundle and would really love to put Motion through its paces with that 9800XT card. At this point, people will be receiving their new G5 iMacs before I ever get my Dual 2.5 G5.

It really gets me up in arms when people who ordered from resellers like MacConnection in the middle of July have their G5s. I'm happy for you guys and all, but just WTF is Apple doing? My reseller must be the absolute lowest on the Apple food chain.

Anyone else with a June 9 order date without their machine yet?

I need some support(and maybe some therapy) :eek:

It may have to do with how many machines MacConnection ordered. If they ordered 200, and there are only 120 pre orderes, then they would have 80 sitting around waiting to be sold.

Just had a call from my Reseller. My mac has come in to them and has already been shipped out. Should be with me first thing tomorrow. :)

Is this the first UK reseller order???

Im really sorry to hear your G5 hasn't come yet, I ordered mine on the 17th of July and its "supposed" (fingers-crossed) ship tommorrow. What sucks is that I ordered FCP along with my order and didnt click the option to send all items as once, so i got FCP on the 22nd of July and 19 days later the Production Suite was announced (5 days after the max 14 day return period). So even though FCP has just been sitting in my room and cost me the same as all 3 programs cost for everyone else now, I will have to pay 200 more for just Motion or rebuy FCP to get DVD Studio Pro and Motion.

TNT tried to deliver today (UK), I was 20 feet from my new mac and the delivery address was incomplete, just name and street, no company name. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Will deliver tomorrow, I will be 10% working 90% looking out of window.

It would be really nice if you would tell us all what you have ordered, so that the rest of us in the UK, have some idea of when our own orders are coming through.

It will tell us what Apple is shipping and what we will have to wait for.
I bet that they are only shipping the G5's and not Alu displays or the Nvidia cards until sometime later in September or even October as the rumors suggest.

How about an initial order of 06/03 for dual 2.0 G5 and upgraded to dual 2.5s on 06/14 still without a machine? And t'day, I find my "open" order has disappeared off Apple's order status page! Arrrgggghhhhhhh....................

That's just plain wrong. Have you tried calling Apple Customer Service directly? Be nice and they may help you out. Good luck! :)

How can the ordering system be this messed up? Hasn't Apple been a leader in online purchasing for just about forever? They've been doing this way too long to have things work like this. I have been an Apple supporter since the first day I used a Mac 10 years ago, but this is shameful.

Want to talk about stupid

I ordered my 2.5 on June 11 in Canada (Educational), my shipping date was pushed back to Sept 13. My only upgrades were the 9800 and BT. Just got off the phone with my apple rep and he says it's still says the 13 but he's not sure if that will really be the date 'cause it's not built yet. I've called other retail stores in the city and they have a bunch of 2.5 in stock not claimed by anybody. I told this to my apple rep and he told me "that blows my mind" I don't even think he believed me. To be honest I don't even know why I'm waiting, I should just cancel my order and by the stock one today. But of course apple owns me so I guess I'll wait with my tail between my legs.
 
They Will Be the Death of Me

So apparently this 10/8 thing is just a glitch and it will switch back to 9/3 before tomorrow.

If that doesn't happen i don't know what ill do.

19 people in the spreadsheet with a order date of June 9 have not recieved a shipped date.

Here are the updates to the spreadsheet and dashboard. Please note that there are 4 tabs in the spreadsheet. If you want to see all the open orders sorted by name look in the "Open Order" tab. If you want to see who got their machine look in the "Arrivied" tab. Those who cancelled their order and went into a Apple store and bought a new one look are in "XO'd Order'" Last tab is the dashboard that has graphs to monitor order progress.

Download the file and sort it to your pleasure. Tell me if something is wrong or changed in your info.

I'll look again. For some reason the spreadsheet confuses me. I guess I'm more of a pie chart kind of guy! :) Mmmmmm pie....

My new and improved date is Sept. 14 BTW. Thanks for keeping things going.

ps - my actual config is Dual 2.5, 250GB HD, 9800XT, 2GB RAM, No Modem

pps - I really think they're delaying my order 'cause I skimped on the modem :rolleyes:
