this thread is slowly dieing...
it's like a room full of boys and girls.. when they have picked their date.. the room becomes more quiet and everyone goes home, leaving only the ones not having a date. or when a footballgame has to be played with a bunch of kids.. and 2 leaders have to choose a team, the last ones stay on the bench.

30inch tft screen snapshot of g5 dual owner

and somehow I find that snapshot a bit hard to believe 
not the 2.5, but the 30" display, and he mentions the 10.3.5 developers beta as needed for liquid cooling support, and that's not true, cause they are being sent with a 10.3.4 build

Since 10.3.5 is still a work in progress, Apple had to build support for liquid cooling into 10.3.4 as they can't ship new cpus with a beta version of the OS.

Those who received shipment confirmation last week have their machines by now (well almost all of them do), but what about the second batch of shipments, any signs yet?
Mine's showing no signs of being anywhere near ready to ship.
I'm sitting in Germany if that makes any difference.

edit: i'm pretty sure the reason my order is delayed till 9/20 is that Apple is not very fond of my bavarian origins.
Order Status Pages Suck
I've been a frequent watcher of these forums. I just wanted to let some of you know that the order status page is HORRIBLY wrong. I have been starring at a delivery date of 9-20-04 (which it was switched to after the July 31st debacle), and then it moved even farther back to 9-24-04.
Well, its August 6th, and I received a shipping notice. So everyone who was as cranky as I was, have a little glimmer of hope. Sounds like Apple needs a Order System upgrade.

Shipping notice received
I received my shipping notice today, for a CTO edu 2.5/1GB/250GB/9600XT/no modem. The thing is, I only ordered it on 7/19. For the first two weeks, the Order Status page gave a shipping date of 9/7. It was abruptly cancelled a couple of days ago, with a new shipping date of 9/24. Then today, it shipped. I'm pleased, because this way I can make the transfer from my TiBook 500 before classes start in two weeks. But it does seem to suggest that ordering early and ordering edu may involve different priorities, as someone has reported.

i'll be running digital performer on my 2.5 once it ever gets here. still have the 20th as the date on the order status page. which could really suck as i'll be on vacation at that time out of the country. looking forward to seeing my projects currently on a dual 533 g4 get a lot of extra power on the g5 as i'm bussing many more channels into real outboard gear and a decent console for summing and i'm at the edge of the pci bandwidth with my current projects. i'm not as much of a plug in hound, as i have enough decent outboard.
when not doing studio work, i'm an iatse house sound engineer at a nice big union roadhouse.
ps: lots of us mac users at prosoundweb where i moderate a couple of forums. stop on by and report on the g5 with audio applications sometime. i will be!!

maybe they are trying to get the edu orders out before the school year starts. I'm sure there are a few colleges that also ordered a slew of them to populate labs.
