Just got off the phone with my reseller (Hitec Bradford). They also have a delivery date of 16th with delivery to me 16-17th.. Let's hope it's correct. Don't want to get my hopes up too much! (clear a space tonight) T minus 7 days and counting.

Ok

Just got off the phone with Apple UK (Ireland!) after a 50 mins hold time, and 3 brief quizical conversations...

Th final conversation revealed a little more than we alrady appeared to know (or maybe confirm anyway) on this thread for us in the UK/Europe. in that:

1: Uk orders are shipping from ireland
2: They usually take 3 days
3: They don't come straight from Ireland - they go to the Netherlands first!! (something to do with tracking and shipping via a central hub - sounds like Rama!?)
4: Currently there are delays due to a lack of some parts (which he did not specify unfortunately)
5: The parts are due and Macs are expected to ship then on or around the 18th of August, so maybe most of us will infact start to get the 20th + date that some emails predicted (mine still says 2nd August btw! :/ )

That is all... :]
 
PC/Mac Mall Update

My contact just emailed me this:

"Still showing a due date of the 20th and we currently have about 400 clients waiting for them. *I’m sure they will not ship all 1275 that we have on order right away."

I have no idea where mine is coming from or when it is coming. I'm at the mercy of my parent company who gives me no information.

I'm very interested in the difference between the 800 imac and the G5 for video editing. Let me know. I need hope!
 
Still 8/20

Called Apple and date of 8/20 has not changed. Fingers crossed.

They told me that $500 rebate for purchase of 23 inch monitor will be honored once I get info off of the G5. Monitor sits and waits for the G5. :(

I don't think there were that many, maybe three or four that i've seen...

I bet you 1000 to 1 that those parts are the G5 Processors. with all the problems in the past, it must be..

I hope they ship some of those also to belgium! ( 2 are enough.. one for Klaus and one for me ( just kidding)

Although Apple told me that my order was shipping from California, it was actually shipped from Shenzhen, China according to my FedEx tracking page...

It was shipped FedEx standard overnight on 8/10, so does anyone have any idea when it will reach Maryland, USA?

hehe, thx Ge4-ce!, but now matter how positive I remain, I think the belgian peeps who ordered online will still be getting theirs first.. as you ordered through a distributor, and me through a reseller.. guess we'll have to wait a bit longer..

Updating the list I keep reveals:

a total of 18 orders from Europe

7 of those are June 9 orders

5 of those 7 are shipping before 8-20

Hoopy & Gnom are the last two 6-9 european orders we haven't heard from.

So........the Europe 6-9 orders are shipping now. Those orders include a 9800 card and a drive swap to a combo drive.

I really was wondering how many people have ordered such a dual 2.5 in Belgium.. I have absolutely no clue.. 100? 1000? or just some 50? or more? I guess somewhere around 1000.

maybe this time the size of our country is our advantage? Like.. apple goes like: oops we have a couple of 100 G5's here, it is not enough to ship to France for example because they ordered 10 000. but Belgium.. yeah.. let's bring em to belgium.. they have only 1000 on hold and then 10% has it allready.

Personally Apple, I think that is a great idea! we will give you some chocolate and beer from here ( that should help)

Over-Under?

Bit OT, but was just wondering how many posts this thread can reach. Is there a record for these sort of things? Does anyone even keep tabs of such info?!

At this rate, given that the G5 shipments are only now slowly trickling in, we may even reach 4000 posts??

A phone call just confirmed my previous suspicion the MacMall and ClubMac are in fact susidiaries and there's only one shipment that comes into both companies. So if they receive and order of 300 2.5s from apple, say, that has to be divied up between both companies.

My ClubMac rep said that the first shipments should be arriving this week, so I'm still keeping hope that I may have a new computer next week... [crosses fingers yet again!]

Personally, it sort of annoys me when people give America a bad name by becoming so morbidly obese. I dislike burgers and fries, myself...

Edit: We probably should get back on topic. :D ;)

What did the E.Mail from Apple say? Having a tracking number is really good news. You could always give Fe-Ex a call.

I limit my beef to once a week, occasionally twice. Not that many burgers though. You could always try low fat mayonnaise.

that's because there are no news on my order, still says "open" and est. ship 08/20.
I don't bother to call Apple on a daily basis to ask for news on it :p (I'm sure it won't speed up the process anyway)
