dude, you should bitch about that. THere's a chance that Apple might offer you something. That's unacceptable.
 
2.5 GHz G5 is now one day sooner than yesterday 4 us all !!

I ordered my 2.5 GHz G5 Mac with 23" HD Monitor on July 28th from friendly Apple online representive.
Was emailed July 29th saying expect to recieve my G5 before or on Sept 10th. : ( still waiting like the rest of you : (
Good news... well for me anyway!! I recieved the Display within a week from placing my order. Very nice indeed, but unfortunatly I have to wait until next month to use it as my G4's Graphic card does not support the new display : (
First person to get their 2.5 GHz G5 Mac, let us all know. open it up and be sure to include some cool photos of it's ice cold interior

Dude, where have you been :) the first G5's were delivered almost a week ago! and pictures are found on this thread somewhere.. and there are no special pics of the cooling, cause you can't see jack **** ;)

I had the same issue and called apple and they said no problem, that they would still honor the rebate. You may want to call yourself and confirm that, but they aren't going to punish you for their late shipment of the computer.
 
Anyone hear anything about Apple stores receiving the boxes yet?

I heard something about one in Texas, but find it a little hard to believe, seeing as I've called about 5 or so today.

According to my spreadsheet No ADC orders have arrived. The ADC appear to be one of the delayed orders from what I've gathered.

The Houston Galleria Store definitely did because I talked to an employee there on Friday that was looking right at one, but none of the other locations I've checked with have. I asked the lady to verify that it was indeed a 2.5 G5 and she swore that it was sitting right there on the floor in front of her as she spoke. She even said she'd hold it for me until closing. However, since Houston is over 200 miles away from me and since I do have a job, there was no way I could have made the drive in time after work before they closed. :(

It looks like these guys are getting one soon:

8-5 NACHODOG

THose dates are est shipping dates I believe.

What I see right now is a HUGE # of 8-20 est. ship dates in the US and other countries.

What disturbs me is there's been very little updating and shipping activity since the first email of 7-30.

A large majority of the the 6-9 orders (I have 32) are one or more of the following:

non USA,
9800 or 6800 cards,
airport extreme,
Reseller,

anyway gotta run, just a few thoughts.

OT, But 10.3.5 is out?

Just recieved an email stating that OS X 10.3.5 has been released. any one else seeing this? email came from g5 support.com
 
Soooo sad. I called Apple and sat on the phone with absolutely nothing to say other than...."Really? Really August 20th?" And there's been no update since...true. And there's talk of extending the shipping date??? Are they going to charge us less at least? Not likey I suppose. Ah well... :(
 
8/17 Shippings?

Called Apple again and the guy told me my shipping date is 8/17 although it still says 8/20 on the website. I asked why the order status shows a different date and his answer was typical: "Mmmm, I have 8/17 here, I wouldn't trust the site" ... I thanked him for my renewed confidence in Apple's order management process and system .... Ergo still waiting but maybe 3 shorter :confused:
 
Well, I ordered an iPod so I decided to rip all the old CDs I had laying around--so I measured the speed of the import on the G5: 15x or so! WOW! That's more than 7 times what my iMac got! :D

solo-act - Unfortunately my "shipping in 24-48 hours" email from last week turned out to be a mistake so I am still at 8-20 :mad:

For those who are considering cancelling their 2.5DP order because of Apple's inefficiency: FIGHT THE URGE!!! :eek:

Do not settle for a 2.0 or worse, a PeeCee, because of your impatience! DO NOT give in to the dark side.... Your 2.5DP WILL BE WORTH THE WAIT!!

Okay, I just called Apple. they could not offer me anything new, other than that the order date is unreliable. I still have no idea when my computer is going to ship.

My order was cancelled and re-ordered over a month and a half ago. It indicates that the warehouse where your G5 is being built has been changed in order to expedite shipping. It is likely shipping from Fullerton, CA, where mine is due to ship on or before 8/20.

Edit: Just noticed this was the 2000th post. Wooooo! :D

My wife has been concerned with my G4 purchased September 1st 2000, afraid that it will die on me at any time. When did you purchase yours in 1999? Have you done any upgrades? Mine is the same as I purchased except a memory upgrade. How well has it performed?

hotwire132002, I'm very sorry that I didn't post your photo's. It wasn't on purpose, I was looking for yours also. I hope hope that you can forgive me. :(
