My attitude? That I don't buy things just because an Apple is stuck on them?

Again, I don't care what brand of monitor you use. You're missing everyone's point here, although I have a suspicion that it's on purpose. ;)

Annnnnyway...back on topic, I am interested to know how the speakers work out for the OP and his two Cinema Displays.

I'm sure Apple's Displays work great for everyone who have computers with mdp, such as myself, and my job, along with the rest of my campus. They will never need to connect another type of device to it, I don't see why you have such a big problem with them.

Until they decide to use another computer, at which the monitor is a paperweight, where a cheaper Dell (or HP or Lenovo) one would keep on chugging.

Buying a monitor for a single computer without the ability to move it around is just dumb. VGA and DL-DVI are standards. Take advantage of that.

mdp is now standard on apple computers. Apple is not going to revert to DVI now that they have switched. Why do you think everyone needs to switch computers all the time with another one that doesn't support mdp?

Because people have more than one computer, and there are still many Apple computers out there that haven't EOL'ed yet, that use mini-DVI or DVI.

If the Apple display were cheaper than the Dell, then it would be a balance of features. But that's not the case. The Apple is clearly a piece of junk when you can get the Dell (or other brand).

IIRC, Apple hasn't made a worthwhile keyboard, display, mouse, or networking product from the point of the iMac forward. I don't much about Apple before then.

Oh boy - me too... no wonder we've hijacked this thread!!

So - what do you think about the..... hang on a sec, I've got to check the first post..... speakers in a 24" Apple Display?

Irony is - I'm self employed. I must be a lousy boss if I can't motivate my one employee..... :D

Hah. I work for a 10K person + company. They probably suck more than the display. I wouldn't even use speaks on a Dell monitor. :D
