What you're talking about has been a long time in the making. It's been a slow, predictable process, since the Jobs era. It hasn't come out of nowhere.

Regardless; what you're upset about isn't going to get any better for you. It's not going to go back the other way. Apple will only cause you more pain from here. That much I can guarantee. So best leave now.

I pretty much already have; ditched my Mac Pro and built a hackintosh (runs circles around any desktop mac, its not even close). I ditched the iPod a long time ago (way before it's demise), didnt bother with iPhone and am selling my MacBook Pro. Apple's not getting another dime out of me. Greedy morons have disrespected their consumers for long enough. This sh*t needs to end.

"As for what improvements can be anticipated for the dual camera in 2017, Kuo indicates that optical image stabilization (OIS) is likely to be added to the telephoto camera. In the iPhone 7 Plus, only the wide-angle camera has OIS."

Well that kind of blows, the 56mm 2.8 second camera is 1-1/3rd stop slower and magnifies the image twice as much, it needs OIS more than the wide angle one does, LOL!!

You get software based OIS, so you're not getting nothing.

It'll be 7s next fall... Apple is good, too good, at milking stuff out and when the 7s does come and no 8, people will try to justify it and stick up for Apple.

What in the heck are you talking about? Practically nobody here praises Apple when they do crap.

No one will use a phone for professional photos. Yeah, some photographers use them for promotional stuff and praise them nicely so Apple can quote them on their keynotes. But thats just for $$

I use my iPhone SE for some professional photos. See attached picture - shot on iPhone SE

Well then, they're incredibly stupid. I'll never buy an iPhone in that case and neither will a LOT of other people.

I don't understand what the big deal is removing the headphone jack, serious question ?

I'm not buying an iPhone 7, still loving my 6 plus but the phone comes with the adaptor. You won't even notice a difference just use the adaptor.

Yes, was going to say exactly this. The longer the zoom, the more important OIS is. Oh Apple...

Well look, it's not going to get any better. Guaranteed. Things aren't going to go the way you want them to. Everybody here can guarantee this. What you want from an Apple product is just going to get worse and worse, regardless of how much you stamp your feet about it.

So you have two choices:

1) Accept the inevitable and come to the realisation that Apple products will never be right for you. Go to the greener grass and use something that you prefer.

2) Accept the inevitable and come to the realisation that Apple products will never be right for you. Remain on this site regardless and continue to moan about features you know won't ever be changed.

quite a bit off topic, but since you asked...

how about trying to charge it in a car that has an aux jack in the stereo but no bluetooth when doing a 20 hour road trip? there's one example

Sorry. It'll be the 7S next year. If you're hoping for a radical redesign, look to 2018. 10th iPhone anniversary will have no impact on moving the pipeline forward 1 year.

People have seen these sort of rumours come and go. They were expecting it with the 4S as well.
You're telling me Apple will go with the "same" phone for 4 straight years? If true, i hope they go down...

... Apple is reportedly looking to move to a glassbody ...

I'd prefer that it were made of zirconium dioxide ceramic, like the new  Watch Edition.
Clear zirconia looks exactly like glass, so maybe that's how the "glass body" rumors started.
It's almost totally scratch-proof, and Apple has taken several steps toward a zirconia iPhone.

Apple applied for its first zirconia patent back in 2006 for general consumer electronics:
http://appleinsider.com/articles/06...tent_on_radio_transparent_zirconia_ce_casings

And they applied for another patent specific to  Watch Edition and iPhone enclosures a year ago:
http://www.patentlyapple.com/patent...c-apple-watch-and-all-new-ceramic-iphone.html

But is zirconia shatter-resistant enough?
Is it recyclable enough?
Can it be mass-produced quickly and cheaply enough?
I guess we'll find out next year.

It's a different shell. Whether one argues it's aesthetically different enough to call it a new design will always be subject to debate.

But the fact is that it's different, as negligible as that difference may be. Likely next year will be the same shell with IP68. Then there will be a redesign in 2018.

More than likely next year's iPhone will be the redesign that everybody's been waiting for. Rumor has it that Apple is moving to a 3yr design rule. Keeping the same design for 3yrs, as opposed to 2. Next year will more than likely be the redesign. OLED display, smaller bezels, higher resolution screen, ect

This is what really sucks about the current Apple. They make design decisions based on profit concerns. There would be not way in hell Jobs would not out a high end camera on the mid-size phone it was technically possible. He would charge for it, but he would not cripple the product just to "differentiate the high-end line". Galaxy S8, here I come...
Apple is in the business of making money, as is any for profit business.

Steve is dead. No need to keep digging him up to make your logical fallacy argument which, by the way, is not logical at all.

While you run off to Samsung, keep it mind, that they do the same kind of thing.

I'm not happy with Apple deliberately crippling all of their products!

AppleTV: has a usb port, but you cant connect an external drive and playback media natively
Mac Pro: 3,541.08€ but it comes with garbage 5 year old GPU (and there are NO upgrades!)
iMac: Sells for 2,655.81€+ but has to downthrottle the CPU due to extreme heat (lack of airflow) and ships with a mobile GPU in a DESKTOP
MacBook: Soldered RAM and glued on battery
Apple Watch: Useless without the iPhone, but the iphone renders the watch useless anyway...?!
iPhone: No headphone jack, limited customization, no file browser, etc?

WHY DOES APPLE CRIPPLE THEIR PRODUCTS LIKE THIS??

All valid points except the one about the iPhones audiojack. I don't think it's a bad move. They can use the space better and they included a adapter for free, which is a new lol. But yeah, charging it in the car + connecting it to a aux will be a pain and you'll need another adapter...

What's also weird is, if you bought a iPhone 7, you can't even use the provided EarPods in your MacBook... Such strange decisions. I really believe it would have been so much easier if they went the usb-c way for all devices. Sticking to lighting doesn't seem to have any real advantages, other than being a bit thinner.

About the ATV, don't forget, a iPhone can record in 4k, but the ATV doesn't support 4K (yet). Oh and the MacBook still has a 480p camera, even the '2nd' gen.

I'm sticking to Apple because I enjoy Mac OS so much more than any Windows version. And I like how it syncs everything with my iPhone. But there are lots of points they could improve on, especially this cable and adapter stuff.

That's essentially the only reason why I'm still with Apple; OS X. If it weren't for that, I'd be long gone. But they're screwing that up too hence my hackintosh. I'm a graphic designer, been working as one for about 10 years now so im pretty deep into the OS X ecosystem, it'd be hard to move away.. but if they somehow royally screwup OS X, I'm completely out.

I just hope they're working on some nice improvements to it. After all the hype and build up, especially with the bokeh effect in the invite, the optical zoom and software based background blur feel a bit underwhelming.

Something tells me that nothing will satisfy your wish list. Every year just makes the list longer, so Apple will never get there.

Expect the "Apple playing catch up" and "fire Tim Cook" comments to continue. No matter what Apple can't win when it comes to some. The iPhone could get two weeks battery life and we'd hear, "typical, they'll copy but then they won't share".

iPhone 7 is a fine product for many who are upgrading.

How is that victim cause working out?
