They aren't collecting anything I didn't expect them to.
Same here… just stick with Safari it tells me that it prevented 51 trackers on this macrumors.com web page hmmmmmDDG is the right way to go, for those of you who haven't made the plunge. You can use "bangs" (shortcuts using the !<key>) in DDG to accelerate searching, like@ !w for wikipedia or !g for Google.
What I'm less clear on is what the advantages are of using the DDG browser instead of Safari in iOS?

Ok but seriously, who even used Windows Safari? Besides me.Or people to not use Chome on the desktop to not have canceled Windows Safari. They care as long as you are paying for it.
It's blind to think otherwise that Apple is some moral hero.
That didn't last very long. lolWhat’s so funny is their one motto used to be “don’t be evil”.
Continue on with business as usual.I wonder what google will do now.
Yes. I tried maybe for 2 weeks and I would get terrible search results, granted that was 6-9months ago but just went back to google for searches. Perhaps I should try DuckDuckGo again and see if the search results improve.I tried duck duck go for a week or two and couldn’t really get good search results. Any body else have that problem? it was maybe last summer I tried it. Google always seems to find me the better results.
Is this about the search engine or the browser app. the article seems very mixed up to me.DuckDuckGo is not immune to this either - https://dzone.com/articles/duckduckgo-has-a-privacy-problem
Did you notice it specifically collects contact information? Why would they need that for anonymized data. They wouldn’t. That is how Apple performs, but Google wants specific data.Might seem 'scary' on the face of it but Google annoymizes all data. https://policies.google.com/technologies/anonymization?hl=en-US
Personally after the Snowden revelations, I think DDG position quite pointless. Google uses the data to sell ads, and the Goverment already has all your data.
So I might aswell use the best service around, because what exact benefit does DDG give for its 'privacy' claims if Google does not keep personally identifiable information anyways? (and note that it would not make sense for Google to lie and risk lawsuits, when they only care about selling ads anyways)
I've been using DuckDuckGo for several years now. It has been getting progressively better all the time. I still need to add the !g redirect every now and then to find something DuckDuckGo has trouble with, but that's getting less and less frequent.Switched. Brave + DuckDuckGo is my new standard.
