DxOMark: iPhone XR is 'Best Single-Cam Smartphone We've Tested'

Yeah it always works very fast for me. Sometimes even if my phone is resting on a table, I can look st it sideways and it still unlocks. A friend of mine has the X and it’s not slow, but def. a little slower than mine in my Max. The biggest surprise for me is the camera. Apple really undersold the new camera upgrades. It’s night and day compared to my 7 Plus. (Mind you that was a very good camera too)

Yeah totally agree on the cameras. Portrait Mode on the XR is surprisingly good. I actually enjoy the 26mm wide angle portrait shots vs the 51mm lens in the 7/8 Plus, X/XS/XS Max, but already miss the real zoom. I knew there would be some trade offs not going with the XS models, but so far, I'm finding the XR to be a bigger update vs my 7 Plus than I even anticipated.

Agreed, even from my x the max is a good improvement camera wise.

Watching camera comparisons, there are sometimes I like the X picture better. Some pics seem to have more contrast in the X versus the XS. But dynamic range is so much better (from what I’ve seen) on the XS.
