Wow, microsoft are boned. PS4 is $100/100/£80 cheaper, no used game DRMs, no always online check in thing and less expensive monthly fee.
I like the design. $399, no disc DRM. Looks like Sony and Nintendo will dominate the next generation...
Microsoft must be kicking themselves for the hash of a press conference. I couldn't find much on their E3 thing earlier but I gather that was nothing special either?

Just a note that people are noticing that the $399 is only showing the console and 1 controller - no camera unit. The camera unit is included in the XBOne (and is necessary).
Plus, a publisher can opt out of MS's DRM for discs. Why would they opt in if they make the same game for PS4 and Wii U without it?
The only thing missing for me was a new Uncharted game, really.
Sony are off to an excellent start!
Mine ends in a few weeks. That Killer Instinct casual-rape joke was a bit crazy!
I think we all expected Microsoft would come up with something to add value to Gold to get it up to PS+, but 2 games a month (and currently they've only announced a 4 and 6 year old game, Plus is getting 4-month old AAA games and some indie games when they launch!) seems a bit tight.
My Gold account ends next month, unless more incentives are announced I won't be renewing.
Camera is listed for $59, so still cheaper overall.
Also, hard drive is 500GB, don't know about Xbone's.
Yep, I loved that part of the presentation. Direct blow to Microsoft. Will definitely be getting the PS4, been with Playstation since the original, here is to another awesome generation of gaming![]()
WWDC, E3 a trillion videos and press conferences... I'm exhausted already.
Haven't been blown over by any ame reveals, but do like price of the PS4 and the fact remote play is mandatory on Vita so finally will get some use it of that...
So far game wise 'next gen' equates to less aliasing, more polygons, but otherwise the exact same games / experiences. They don't feel 'next gen' to me.
I've had (or shared) the original and PS2, but I jumped ship last gen. Looks like I'll be back.
IMO:
PS2 was better than Xbox.
Xbox 360 was better than PS3 for gaming, PS3 was a better all round entertainment device..
How so? Thinking back to the games I enjoyed the most this gen, they're all on PS3. Uncharted series, SOTC HD, GT5 (with wheel!), Little Big Planet, Journey.
But I'm not really into console shooters, which the Xbox had lots of.
Aaaaaah it's region free and you can upgrade the HDD yourself. It's like they purposely designed a console for gamers, how novel!
