I have to agree with you, people keep wanting a new design but for me the Macbook as it exists has a simplicity about it that says "how could you improve on this?" I look at dark side laptops and most have some sort of "ornamentation" that appears to be trying to create a sense of style which fails miserably against the MB.
I am waiting for the 45nm chip, an up to date screen and a (maybe) a multi touch pad.
My Pismo was the last of a good line, I don't mind buying another "last of a good line" if it lasts me another seven years.
Apple have to upgrade soon to keep competitive but the big upgrade will come later is my guess.
Macbook Air, I suspect, is a distraction with another purpose.
High noon on the West coast, what time is that in the real world? Suppose about 2 am on Wednesday here.
I agree with you. Sometimes Apple's products look so great (Macbook pro) that I can't imagine them changing it. But Apple always surprises use with something. Who would of thought that they would announce a laptop with tapered edges at Macworld? I agree with your opinion on the 'Dark Side' (lol) laptops, too. They always try to look cool with their their carbon fibre patterns and their stickers. Sometimes, they even look pretty nice but it's a different type of nice compared to macs. I think it's human nature to like simple designs like Apple's products.
