I’m a hater of the notch and couldn’t understand it when people that had used it said ‘you don’t notice it’, but you really don’t notice it as much as you might think. It still isn’t great on landscape with things like videos. The camera bump isn’t terrible.

When you watch a movie are the corners round or is the pucture cut?

Heads up if you still walk around with your hair long and covering your face like you are doing a really bad Kurt Cobain impression all the time: FaceID does not like it when your hair falls in front of you all the time.

Luckily I was planning on getting the name significantly tamed tomorrow anyway.

Apart from that this thing feels really fast, especially coming from a 6, but surprisingly feels fast compared to my 10.5 Pro iPad. The screen looks mostly beautiful but I see a notable blue shift when held at more of an extreme angle. Really enjoying it so far.

View attachment 731751 Loving mine, Face ID works well even with large sunglasses and a deer stalker hat!
But I find the phone has to be the same orientation as your face otherwise it won’t work, so it doesn’t work with the phone in landscape or the phone upside down.

Unless of course you’re laying horizontally or upside down...
I’ve actually been really surprised at how well it detects my face at a range of angles.

I really accentuated the movement of my head during setup.

Only thing I have noticed is battery life seems a bit sub par but I’d like to experiment more.

I now see why some folks say the unlock goes straight to the home screen - if you are quick when you pick up the phone you can swipe and it will unlock on the home screen simultaneously, or may pause for a fraction of a second, show the unlock at top, and go straight to home screen. My suggestion is don't wait for the facial recognition, just swipe as you lift it.

Dude, with respect, it's doing spotlight indexing, running through your photos, etc. etc. You won't get true battery life until a few days in because of all that happens with setup.

Thats a good idea about accentuating head movements during setup!, I kinda of rushed mine so might reset and do it again, cheers!

agree! super smart setup when switching from my 'old' iPhone 7 Plus to the X. just like when setting up the Apple Watch

Holy cow... I am SHOCKED nobody has talked about the setup process. I have the 7 and this year making setup like Apple TV, Watch, etc. was so smart. My old phone migrated over to my new phone in no time. And not a normal hassle utilizing iCloud backup the old way. I love love love this addition alone.

I love silver iPhone X. My first impression has been expected. The silver color is more outstanding and premium as it looks on the commercial compared to space gray which looks pretty common. Very satisfied to choose silver for the first time.

Shareholders will be pleased too, from the resonance here and elsewhere.

I've got to see one. And then I've got to convince myself (and the secretary of finance) the 256G version really is five times better than a 32GB SE.
Because that's the price-difference (with carrier subsidies) I'm looking at.

100% satisfied! I’ve had the latest iPhone every year since the original, and this is by far the biggest upgrade for me. This is also the first time where I feel there is absolutely nothing missing in terms of hardware and absolutely nothing I envy from a competing flagship phone. Job very well done Apple!

I find it fascinating, and telling, that the story here, with positive happy comments about an Apple product has 40-ish comments, while the 2 negatively cast stories below have 10 times the number of comments. What's the motivation to release negative stories about Apple? The question answers itself...

So far love it but not too sure about the battery life. It seems to be draining pretty quick.
First. Day. It's doing a million things it won't have to do in coming days.

Iphone X is a massive leap from what we have known as iPhone since release. Based on the intuitive nature of the navigation alone is worth the upgrade for me, it is LIGHTENING fast and makes me think why hasn't it always been this easy. Sure, its gorgeous, feels great in the hand and FACE ID has yet to miss identifying me even once in the two hours I have owned it now, but that navigation, flicking apps, searching open apps, siri, all of it just kicks ass. Apple congratulations on iPhone X, AMAZING work. Beyond expectations.

Nope, it's $1000 or $1150. Further, it's a pocket computer with a processor faster than the entry-level MBP.

Right, because you need more power for instagram, emoji AR & facebook than a computer running desktop OS, professional multimedia production apps, virtual machines, servers, terminals, music, several emails, several browsers, text editors & IDEs, network monitoring, professional external hardware, etc.

That's how good the MB is lol.

Not just any sunglasses, but Maui Jim sunglasses.

As Miss Piggy might have said, "Pretentious, moi?"
I think we should give them the benefit of the doubt. The specificity is probably related to Apple's contention that some polarized lenses cause issue. Listing the brand and model that succeeded or failed helps everyone over the long term.
