I got used to it so fast...my mind is blown. When I first saw the gestures demoed, I thought it would take a while to get used to after years of the same thing.
Now, I think that I would struggle to navigate any other iPhone. o_O:confused::cool:

Happy with mine. The phone is great. I was coming from an iPhone 5 (and actually since June I was using a backup iPhone 4 because my iP5 died) so a dramatic improvement to say the least!

I love my space grey iPhone X 256 it’s amazing this screen is stunning such a huge upgrade over all the other iPhones in my opinion

Funny how when people were saying how much better OLED looks on other phones over 5 years ago, all the fans were saying OLED was crap.

Yes, it's a stunning screen. Years behind, as only Apple can.

Meanwhile... "preordered" my iPhone X 256GB Kevin Spacey Grey at 12:06am a week ago ... 2-3 week estimates......................

Not to rub salt in a sore, but my wife decided last night to stop at the Apple store and see if she liked it. Evidently she did because she bought one. She did arrive a bit early (6:00 AM) and it did take a while to get into the store (they only let people in as they had sales staff to work with them) but she knew before going into the store that they had enough phones on hand that she could buy it immediately if she liked it. There were fewer than 100 people waiting outside and reps told the crowd that everyone waiting as of 7:30 would be able to buy the phone.

My wife also had a 5. I don’t think she is going to have Touch ID issues because she never had Touch ID. Or more than 32 gig on the phone.

The one thing I will say is as much as I love the hardware, Apple’s software is still letting them down. Again I’ve had issues with getting my music back on the phone. Including a couple where it says it wasn’t purchased by my account but deleting it and trying to redownload from my purchases says you can’t re-download this song.

I know this isn’t an iPhone X specific item but it definitely detracts from the experience.

It’s a nice screen but it isn’t an overwhelming upgrade. The iPhone 8 screen is still very good. I wouldn’t be buying this phone for the screen quality alone.

The setup was amazingly simple. Fast and smooth. Didn’t have one issue. The screen is brilliant and the gestures are already becoming second hand. FaceID to open apps is lightning fast

I couldn’t be happier so far

This was said when TouchID was initially released, its true for every advancement in convenience. Human by nature tend to seek an easier way to complete tasks/actions (being called lazy, lol).

I would not consider it a game changer, just an evolution.

I preordered about 2:08am CST, and Verizon couldn't be reached. I don't know why Verizon has to be reached because I bought it a full price. Had a Nov 3 delivery date when I submitted the order, and had a "reservation." After securing my order I got a Nov 17-24 delivery date. Wasn't that annoyed because I figured it was better than a December delivery.

Then I find out one of my friends placed an order for it 10 hours after preorder and it came in today. Super annoyed now. Had no one to fume to so I thought I'd share it here, lol.

Whatever. I will have it soon enough.

Heads up if you still walk around with your hair long and covering your face like you are doing a really bad Kurt Cobain impression all the time: FaceID does not like it when your hair falls in front of you all the time.

Luckily I was planning on getting the name significantly tamed tomorrow anyway.

Apart from that this thing feels really fast, especially coming from a 6, but surprisingly feels fast compared to my 10.5 Pro iPad. The screen looks mostly beautiful but I see a notable blue shift when held at more of an extreme angle. Really enjoying it so far.
No ****. How lazy do you have to be to jerk your head or move hair away from your face.

If they're actually using USB to restore, they're kind of the people that deserve USB 2.0 speeds. Also, from here out, they'll never use USB again...

By the way, these phones have USB 3.0 transfer speeds over lightning.

You do realize that restoring over iCloud is slower than USB 2.0, right? :)

In general, I love the new iPhone. After half a day, I strongly prefer FaceID to TouchID. The new screen is fantastic, and I love that it fits in nearly the same form factor as the 6/7/8.

On the downside, I hate the notch. Maybe I’ll get used to it, but I find it distracting. I also miss Reachability.

That activation situation was a real SOB, so first impressions out of the box weren’t that great. As for the phone itself, I’ll let you know as soon as it’s done restoring from backup. At the moment I’m missing the battery percentage readout on the top of the display. Would rather have that number than a stupid skeuomorphic icon.

When you watch a movie are the corners round or is the pucture cut?
You can choose, it’s tempting to watch it in full screen but the notch can be distracting. So both options look good in their own way.

Reachability is still there, swipe down from the home bar.

I still wish you could swipe up to close out apps in multitasking. Now you have to long press and tap on a little red dot. Swiping up is much faster.

I like mine but I don't love it -- yet. I'm coming from the 8 Plus so it'll take some getting used to since it's smaller/narrower, but I welcome change. Also, I wish it were bigger, hopefully next year they'll release an X Plus.
