Early iPhone 4S Deliveries from Verizon Reach the U.S.

So even though the status on Apple's website is incorrect, they still sent you an email with a tracking number?! I'm also "preparing for shipment", but received no other acknowledgement.

No, I haven't received anything from Apple. I tracked it at UPS using my telephone number in the reference field.

The information provided in my premier email has not been updated since the 7th. I do however get a tracking number that does not seem to exist in UPS's system that shows my phone shipped out on the 11th. So if you ordered via premier, just log into your AT&T account and check your Recent Orders. You'll see it listed there in a more up-to-date fashion.

Thanks for the info! I too have a tracking number for UPS that shipped yesterday, but same as you, it does not show in their database yet. Oh well though, at least it shipped.

I preordered 2 x iPhone 4S 64GB Black.

One has been "Preparing for Shipment" for days.
The other just got its tracking number at 2am last night.

I'm wondering how likely a Friday delivery really is

I will say this.... Friday would be great, but I'm not going to be heartbroken if it doesn't come till Monday or Tuesday. I love my iPhone and I'm anxious for the new one, but I don't need to be the absolute first person to have it.

Though getting it early this person did is pretty awesome. Nice bonus.

What are Sprint customers seeing on Sprint's website or UPS? For me Sprint's website is saying that it should be delivered Friday or Saturday and on UPS it's showing that a label has been created and it's being delivered UPS 2nd day air but there's no details of it leaving the warehouse etc.

I ordered from Sprint and I'm seeing the exact same thing as you describe.

Very jealous of everyone who has shipped already! Pre-ordered mine a few minutes after the site was up and my order is still be processed! Chances are ill still be waiting a week! Have not received a confirmation email either from AT&T Premier. Just spoke to an AT&T rep...said that my order shipped out today. Said I would receive a confirmation email when tracking information was available.

I got a status change email from ATT as well as a tracking number. Its UPS which sucks because they are very unreliable on delivery timing.

Oh well...it will be here friday for sure.

I'm one of the people that have an iPhone stuck in Kentucky since yesterday morning. I don't know how this really works but my theory is that maybe they all come together to Kentucky and this is where they separate them to where they're going. Maybe that's why they're taking so long?

I'm sure Apple requested UPS to hold them for Friday delivery. Since Louisville is UPS's worldwide air hub, it makes sense that they would be held there. I imagine it would be difficult to control all the local outlets to prevent premature deliveries.
