I'm one of the people that have an iPhone stuck in Kentucky since yesterday morning. I don't know how this really works but my theory is that maybe they all come together to Kentucky and this is where they separate them to where they're going. Maybe that's why they're taking so long?
Found out this morning that either Apple or UPS input the wrong state for my address. One misplaced keystroke will keep me form getting my phone on Friday.![]()
The only good thing is having 'Delivers Oct 14 via Standard Shipping' on Apple order tracking page.
What to think?
I tracked it at UPS using my telephone number in the reference field.
Did you try this...
Mine said "preparing.." also, but when I tracked it by telephone number it shows as enroute.

I'm sure Apple requested UPS to hold them for Friday delivery. Since Louisville is UPS's worldwide air hub, it makes sense that they would be held there. I imagine it would be difficult to control all the local outlets to prevent premature deliveries.

Couldn't possibly be your missed keystroke, right?
Me too. "Louisville, KY, United States 10/11/2011 9:28 A.M. Arrival Scan"
Me too. I ordered via Apple Store at 6am ET using the Apple Store Ap. I tried Apple.com and AT&T and it wasn't working for hours so I downloaded that ap on a whim and it worked.
This post makes me sadI pre-ordered mine from AT&T and they say I order mine 10 minutes too late and so I have to wait 1-2 weeks.
