ordered through apple and no tracking yet

I placed my order at about 4 Am central just 2 hours after the servers went up, then down, then back up again. When I ordered I got an email a couple hours later to go back and complete the process but that my phone was reserved, which I did immediately. But my order still says its preparing for shipping. Its been in this state for over 24 hours now. Is it time to call apple??? or should I wait it out? I find it hard to believe that I wouldn't be part of the first batch considering I was on apples website the moment it came up and attempted to order a phone for over an hour and a half before I was able to finally order my phone. Any advice?

I ordered my 4s through apple - 64GB black AT&T version. I think I placed the order around 9:30 AM. Got my shipment notification a little while ago. UPS shows the expected delivery date as 10/14, and right now the phone is sitting an Alaska.

Kinda wish apple was still using FedEx.. UPS has a tendency to come very late to my house (9PM in some cases) while FedEx shipments tend to arrive early. My iPhone 4 for example arrived at 10AM the day before release... That was a good day - went to court in the morning and got my speeding ticket dripped, then came home to a brand new iPhone 4 (which pretty much ended up being paid for by the refunded ticket money :p)

I ordered mine at 7:30 am-ish Eastern time from Apple.

It now says shipped via UPS and has been to China and Hong Kong and is currently in Alaska.

Ordered an AT&T 64GB and an AT&T 16GB as 2 separate orders.

It's funny they both have identical departure times from Hong Kong and identical arrival times in Alaska, but the shipment notification e-mails came 90 minutes apart.

When I didn't get a confirmation e-mail for the second order (actually the order I placed first) I checked Apple's site several times and it was still processing. Therefore it just wasn't a delayed e-mail...

My girlfriend and I ordered Black 64gb phones, and both are still "Preparing for Shipment." I ordered mine at 4:30 am Pacific time, and she ordered hers around 9:00 am. All our friends, who ordered white 32gb phones after our orders, have already received shipping notices. Frustrating.

Last year mine came a day early, and around 10:00 am. Since they're using UPS now, it will be around 7:00 pm on Friday, at the soonest. Damn.

It seems that AT&T is just randomly processing orders. The rep I spoke with supposedly escalated my order (it has yet to be processed). However, he mentioned that it was a first-order basis, not first-processed, so EVENTUALLY all orders will be processed.

Here's what "Processing" might really mean:

Today, I received an email from AT&T that states "We have processed your order and it has been sent to our warehouse for shipment," and on the right it says "Pending Shipment."

However, when I login to the AT&T website, it states an "Item Status" of "Processing."

I ordered from the AT&T website, after dozens of attempts on the Apple website with no success. My order was placed at 1:36am Pacific time. I attached images below (from today):

I ordered 33 minutes earlier than you, and I'm stuck with pending :(. FML.

I'm still bitching about it.

It appears that the orders being prepared for shipment through are all white. Where are the black ones? :-/

For me the black one shipped, my white iPhone is still "Preparing for Shipment."

I ordered a black 64GB model on Oct. 7 at 2:45am PT. Then completed an order for a white 32GB model for my wife around 3:15am PT.

The black model shipped from China and arrived in Anchorage, AK, on 10/10/2011 at 2:41 P.M. Expected arrival 10/14. No shipping for the white iPhone yet.

New Update from UPS: My phone has left Anchorage Alaska at 11:11pm local time.

New Update from UPS: My phone has left Anchorage Alaska at 11:11pm local time.

My tracking information is the exact same as yours. I am hoping that it gets delivered on Thursday. It really makes sense with how my brother got his iphone4 a day early last year and such. I am really stoked also to download iOS 5 tomorrow and get a nice trial run on my old and slow 3GS.

I also was able to confirm my order through apple on Friday at 5:30 am EST

Still "Processing Items" for me in Germany :(
But now I can select, if I want to "Add Free Gift Message"...
That's my only news

I ordered Friday morning and it still says "Preparing for shipment". Apple Store still says "Delivers by Oct 14", but the suspense is killing me. I don't know how it will get here from China on the 14th if they don't ship it today.

UPDATE:

I went onto UPS.com and checked via reference again and now have a second tracking number. That should be for the black one. It's still in China.

The white one says it departed Alaska.

Both are scheduled for a Friday delivery

Anyone order early from Verizon? We ordered a white 16GB and a black 16GB and when I check the order status on Verizons website it says "we received your order and it is in process". We placed the preorder around 3:10 am. I am getting frustrated with Verizon for not getting out any more information. I have called several times and get different answers each time. One rep says you should have it by the 14th and another says it will ship the 14th and you should have it 2 days from then. I am just wondering if anyone who preordered from Verizon if they have gotten any shipment email notifications? I know it's just a phone but for some one who has no patience it's a pain! This is gonna be my first iPhone and I can't wait! I love my iPad and iMac!

Hope everyone gets their iPhone4S when they are supposed to and enjoys them!

Seems like their punishing us for taking down their servers while trying to get ours first.

Most people who ordered before the websites (Apple, ATT, Verizon) went down are having difficulties.

I also ordered from Verizon but haven't received any updates. When I ordered it said it'd be delivered on the 14th but now it's saying shipping on the 14th. Ugh, anyone having any luck with them?

I ordered a white 32GB 4s directly from apple.ca about 45 minutes after the preordering started. Got my confirmation email about 4 hours later.
But my phone still says "processing" on apples website. My credit card has been charged.
I'm concerned there is something wrong with my order. Anyone else in the same boat?

People, please include your color, capacity, carrier, and where you ordered from, and possibly order time whenever you post the status of your shipment. Will help us spot patterns.

My white AT&T 64gb (x2) reserved at 4:30 AM and ordered through Apple at 9:30 am still show "preparing for shipping" with a delivery date of Friday.

I reserved these two right after the servers came back up with the stopgap AT&T reservation solution.

Don't worry mine is in the same boat, I called Apple today and they said all phones that are in this state will be shipped today and still get here on Friday.

AT&T White 64GB. Ordered on Friday Oct. 7th around 3PM from the Apple Store, confirmation e-mail received (for the purchase order) around 5PM.

Status is still showing "Preparing for shipment". It has been showing this for at least the last couple of days. Does anyone have confirmation of white phones being shipped? It seems that since iPhone4, the white phones are harder to obtain.
