Check out what happens when you browse your network filled with windows shares
Yeah, brilliant. Will please the Mac fanboys, but will definitely not help in the enterprise market.
I mean, come on, as an insider joke in the devloper build it was funny, but maybe they should've just added some default Win XP/Vista logo. Heck, even a stupid wooden window wouldn't be that embarassing.
That's interesting, because I feel like it runs slower on my MBP 2.2GHz...
Also, it seems Time Machine needs an AFP share hosted from a *Leopard* client (or Xsan or OS X Server), and won't work to a remote AFP share on an earlier Mac OS X client... Has this been anyone else's experience as well? (Apple states Leopard, but it is a little unclear if they mean ONLY Leopard).
- Feels fast on a PowerBook G4 1.33GHz
This are things that magically have disapeared from previous builds or product specs in Apple's website.
So far:
- Support for Airport Drives in Time Machine
If you think so little of your data, why do you bother to back it up? 😕
Psst - Jobs is a marketing guy. He's not an engineer. Imagine the colossal bitching if Apple announced Leopard was delayed again, even for just a week or two? It's much, much better to simply ship Leopard as polished but missing a few features, and add them in later.CJD2112 said:he simply shrugged and said the truth is Apple is run mostly by its marketing department. Whether the OS is polished or not, he stated the marketing department seems to call the shots at Cupertino. That surprised me, especially given Jobs' status, and I question the validity of such a statement. However, given what has happened with the iPhone release (the muck of bricking and SDK's), the bad batch of iPod Touches, and the stripping down of Leopard features over the course of the beta releases, it does make one wonder. Is Apple rushing things and sacrificing its well earned quality?
