As this is the PPC forum, you'd be far better off asking the same question on the Notebooks/MacBook Pro forum, or on the Marketplace/Macs and Mac Accessories forum with a ‘Feeler’ heading. You're sure to get some feedback there on approx value. Plus you need to provide more details on condition, memory, SSD capacity, cpu etc as there would surely be a significant price difference between a 2.2GHz and 2.8GHz model. Where I'm sitting there are many 2015 15" MBPro models going from 500euros to 1200euros.

Sorry, its a 2015 almost new 15 inch Macbook Pro with 16GB memory, and a 256 SSD. SSD can be upgraded.. Its MacBookPro 11,5

I’ve craved for so long a quadcore G5, so one popped on eBay with a quite damaged case but not too bad.

The listing ended on £21 but with few Nectar vouchers price dropped to a whopping £10.
200miles of driving after, popped the case open to find a good 4gb of ram + couple of SIIG PCIe firewire + Intel PCIe ethernet and the classic Nvidia 6600 (these they start to pile up). I was pleased to see the second revision of LCS so I should be good to go! yay

There are only 2 versions of the LCS. Both are delphi - the dual which is less reliable, and the single pump which is more reliable. I have a G5 Quad still and it has the single pump - never an issue with it. My 1st G5 Quad years ago was a dual pump - not reliable as it made all sorts of noises, never leaked though.

I just bought a 2nd hand iPhone 7 32GB for $232AU last night for my soon to be 13yo son's upcoming b'day... and then today received a message from the seller:

"What u going use it for?"

So, for some reason I get the feeling the next response will be along the lines of "Well it mostly works but you can't use - xyz"... :( Which will mean a PayPal refund, and then back to searching for another "bargain"...

(Not that the price was a super bargain - 7's are going for $220 - $270 here in Oz...)

I have to say eBay has filled up with lots of not-what-they-seem Apple-product sellers... frequently non-local devices that have been refurbed with non Apple parts... So when I saw this auction that seemed to be just from a person, not a "business", thought it looked like a good deal as there was no issues noted in the ad.

I heard so that the single pump is more reliable, luckily is what I’ve got. Cross fingers for it not to leak any time soon

Depending on how you define "bargain" in the case of old Macs.. for me this one was a bargain as it has quite the impressive CPU on it. Paid 40€ for it plus shipment.

The machine is in mint condition I'd say, clean and no scratch on the outside, everything working in the inside. Only downside is the ATI Rage 128 Pro as it is daaaaamn slow in Leopard, even with Jaguars' Kexts

Maybe seller is being friendly. Best of luck. Hopefully everything goes well.

The Core Duo MacBook saga continues - after what seems like an eternity of waiting, the replacement (used) LCD and topcase for my A1181 MacBook 1,1 have arrived, and I've restored it back to full working order (dodgy DVD drive notwithstanding).

I have to say, aesthetics all aside, this machine is far superior to my Core Duo MacBook Pro, even though it has both an inferior CPU (1.83 Ghz vs. 2 Ghz) and inferior graphics (64 MB GMA 950 vs. 128 MB Radeon Mobility X1600). It's more responsive, snappier, and doesn't cook itself when playing YouTube videos.

Mine used to back in the day when YT used Flash for video. You don't notice the heat so much because the poly shell acts as an insulator but inside it's a toasty piece of hell and the fans are noisy.

Yes, originally, they had that same problem for me too, until I switched away from using Flash. Replacing the thermal paste and cleaning out the fans and heatsink were a huge help too.

That machine is just begging for 8.6 and Rhapsody (if possible) - they should fly like there's no tomorrow. :D
I tried Rhapsody :D but the screen stayed black, I think there is something wrong with that Rage 128. Only a few OSs show anything on screen. DVI shows grey Boot screen but nothing thereafter, VGA stays black after POST but shows a picture on user logon. It is strange...

How do you overclocked it?

Hey, as opposed to the hi res which I’ve found to be a mess to overclock, the previous one by schematics have a clear pll table. If I have a bit of time today and I’m not going to much OT I’ll take it apart so can share a pic of the resistors position

Another of my desires was to have a 1ghz Titanium PowerBook which could run os9. One that I’ve found was 25£ for the Mac plus I’ve added to the investment 5£ for 1gb of ram and 10£ for a screen ( the original was cracked ) it has a 128gb mSata SSD with a marvell IDE controller and the 7455 is overclocked to 1.2ghz as shown in system profiler

interesting, did you do the overclock yourself or is that how you got the machine, and how does it report its speed in OS X? :)

(also do you have a battery installed? you need to install one that holds some kind of charge for the machine to kick itself into full speed mode)

Yes the machine was a stock 1ghz, I don’t remember the markings of the processor maybe rx1000? A fellow friend passed me an Italian website full of apple schematics so easy does it with some overvoltage too.
Under leopard is reported as 1ghz, but this is expected in some instances I don’t really know why..Great slim design in my opinion but the cooling is terrible (to take it apart too..) I do a lot of these mods for fun but I’m not a great guide maker let alone without lots of mistakes. attached pic with geek bench and battery info for reference
