I think the delay n ecg being released is Apple needs to make sure they have enough server capacity and bandwidth for everyone that will be doing an ECG every 5 sec :)

Right now I have the Kardia Mobile ecg to use if I get concerned when my Apple Watch gives me a low heart rate alert.(most of them read as unclassified) I’ve had hospital ecg’s and the chogardogram where they us.e ultrasound to check your heart. I think a lot of people will give themselves heart attacks worrying about when the ecg function will be released

Probably a joke, but the ECG on the Watch will all be done locally - no server needed to help with this outside of the OS install.

Sometimes irregular heat beats come and go. About once a week I get episodes where my heart skips beats for a few mins. I go get an EKG at the dr and it doesn't happen. Hopefully I can catch it with the AW EKG.
So a doctor says you’re fine but you think a watch is going to give you the real truth? Sounds like you need to find new doctors.
It’s more complicated than that when you have limited healthcare and can only go to one hospital when you’re in the middle of the desert, but thanks! A watch won’t help diagnose it, but I can maybe show the doctors if something does show when it happens and not when I get in after the ambulance gives me heart stabilizing drugs with abnormal ekg readings 3 times, then it being fine at the hospital.
It’s normally the same exact time pretty much - a day delay would be odd even

MacRumors on Twitter says that was a mistake and the watch update isn’t out yet :(
Of course it is... just like some sites say it was going to be out last month. Huge bummer.

Does anyone know if I change my iPhone region to USA will the ECG become available when it’s updated?

Shows up now on the phone health app with 12.1.1 but no update for the AW. So half ass.

Im guessing since it didn't make it with the bundle today it still has a ways to go. Might not make it this year.

My cardiologist said otherwise it will show up on EKG and holter monitor even when you have no symptoms. Maybe I should see a different cardiologist.
He might mean it will show up if it's in the abnormal rhythm even if YOU don't notice any symptoms. Under about 130 bpm most people won't even notice something like PSVT or irregular afib. That's why they give out devices like Holter monitors so they can get readings over the course of a day or longer if needed to catch the arrhythmia.

And, other than massive, factually unsupported general pessimism, your actual, factual basis for that would be...?

You might need a US Apple ID? We don't know...

Really hope so, I've been refreshing my Software Update tab every hour on the hour.
Save yourself the trouble: unless there's an urgent need, most (say 90%) releases occur at 1pm Eastern Time. Occasionally, they occur at 4pm ET (or shortly before). You don't need to check any other hours, realistically.

I'm sitting on iOS 12.0.1. When Watch OS 5.1.2 comes out, will I have to upgrade to 12.1 or 12.1.1 in order to load 5.1.2 into my watch?

Other than understandable caution, any reason you haven't updated? I totally get it if you feel like you've been burned with buggy updates in the past. I think that has improved a great deal in the last year or two. I used the iOS 12 betas and never had any bugs that affected use. I know other people did, and they were real, but for a run of betas, my experience with 12 was outstanding.

Yep it was a joke. Because just like a new car you have to touch all the buttons with a new feature I’m sure people will be trying it out a lot

Kardia has two different options to send in a copy of your ecg (for two different fees). To get a medical anyalsis of your ecg I sounded if apple will have something similar
