Yes. They are keeping the name until final release to avoid confusion.Even in the latest 26.1 beta with the new multicolor branding they still call it Apple TV+.
They just decided so didn't tell anyone it seems. I also have never heard anyone say "Apple TV 4K" so maybe I'm in the minority here.anyone else confused why the website (or really anything) hasn't been updated yet?
What a completely made-up scenario to try and make something seem more complicated than it is. Most normal interactions would simply go like this:Really? "Our hardware is called Apple TV 4K for your TV" ?
I have secondhand embarrassment for him.
Him: What should we watch tonight on Apple TV love?
Them: Maybe a movie?
Him: Ok, pass me the remote our Apple TV 4K for your TV hardware.
Them: Ok, here. *throws remote hard*
Him: Thank you. Once our Apple TV 4K for your TV has switch-on, let me click my profile, scroll to open up Apple TV and go to the Apple TV section to watch the latest Apple TV movie. Oh Lordy, I love my *leans over and rubs their leg* Sorry "Our" Apple TV 4K for your TV hardware. *grins to himself*
Them: *throws up*
Very true and exactly why the "Our hardware is called Apple TV 4K for your TV" comment by Eddy Cue is just so silly. Especially the "for your TV" part. It's madness. What a completely made-up scenario to try and make something seem more complicated than it is. Most normal interactions would simply go like this:
Person 1: What should we watch tonight?
Person 2: I don't know, hand me the remote and I'll check what's new
Person 1: Oh this looks good, lets watch that
Person 2: Sounds good
You intentionally tried to use the term Apple TV as much as possible even though no normal human interaction would go like yours.
Or Apple TV 4K + it’s not like there isn’t two 4K models already. So the next Apple TV box will be Apple TV 8K confirmed.
Does anyone need it explaining that theres a Netflix app and a Netflix subscription that are separate things? Likewise with Prime, Disney etc?
I guess I'm a weirdo, I don't go around saying "I'm gonna watch Apple TV on my Apple TV".Yeah, but now add in if Netflix was selling a standalone hardware box.
And that was just called “Netflix” also…
I think the big difference between these subscriptions services and Apple TV, is that Apple TV both hosts Apple TV and Apple Movies (or iTunes Movies or whatever). So Apple TV is not only Apple TV, you can also buy other things there that are not Apple TV, but at the same time are on Apple TV.Does anyone need it explaining that theres a Netflix app and a Netflix subscription that are separate things? not really.Yeah, but now add in if Netflix was selling a standalone hardware box.

Nope. WE just decided 😛Eddy Cue Explains Why Apple TV+ is Now Apple TV
"We just decided,"
All Apple products should just be renamed MarkovicYep. I'll be going from having to explain to older relatives what I mean when I say a partciular movie or show is on Apple TV+ in the Apple TV app on their Apple TV to it being on Apple TV in the Apple TV app on their Apple TV.
The app that provided access exclusively to their subscription service was called Apple TV+. This is what I had on my Xfinity set-top box. It doesn’t let you watch your purchased TV shows and movies.
The app that provided to all your purchased content, as well as the subscription service, was called Apple TV.
I am starting to wonder if those who complain about this ever interact with other humans or they just socialize with AI.
I can see chatbots getting confused by the Apple TV names and saying weird things like "I will be watching Apple TV on my Apple TV"
But humans would interact more normal and not so robotic.
"I'm going to watch some TV, see you later"
"Hey, what'd you watch on TV last night?"
Things like that.
exactly.I am starting to wonder if those who complain about this ever interact with other humans or they just socialize with AI.

People like to jump on the whinge-bandwagon on social media and complain about nothing to make them feel better I suppose.
"Hey, did you watch Foundation?'
'No, whats that on?'
'Apple TV'
I think most people inherently understand the concept of a subscription based streaming platform and the multiple ways in hardware and software combinations required to access the content.
