Apple executive Eddy Cue, who oversees services like the iTunes Store, Apple Music, Apple Pay, Siri, Maps, and iAd

Interesting that all but two of those services (the iTunes Store and iAds -- neither of which I use personally) make up the majority of my current pain points with iOS devices.

He has been responsible for some of Apple's worst products for years and things aren't getting any better.

If you think he is the right man for the job, I think you are in a minority.

I have no idea if he's the "right man for the job." Nor do you. The difference is that I am not arrogant enough to pretend that I know how to run the richest company in the world better than the people who are actually doing it. That was my point.

Maybe EA will make an new SIMs Apple version, and you can use it to prove how much better you'd do at running the company than the accomplished people who are doing so now.

Eddie has a huge role at Apple. Has to be a tough job and he doesn't show stress on his face. I am glad they are not going to do that TV comedy hour with the iPhone with only 16 GB of storage. After season 1, the jokes would have gotten old.

This all makes (a little) sense in one possible respect: They don't want to produce TV maybe in the long term....but they want to establish themselves as an exclusive TV content distributor as well in the short term. But....to say they only want to help where possible is quite an understatement.

Yeah, but it would be so easy....they could just take the jokes right off this forum...no thought required.

You're right. That is interesting. Because other than iAds I use them all, and they work great for me.

Obviously not everyone will have the same experience--YMMV, as they say. But if there are people out there that say they have problems with Apple's cloud services, then those problems do exist.

As for me? iCloud once ate one of my documents I had typed up for one of my college courses. That's the last time I used it. So I can attest to the fact that these problems are real, and that if Apple wants people to take them seriously, they need to focus on those issues instead of a glorified 30-minute ad.

Wow, what an independent mind you are. Wait when Trump becomes president of the largest economy in the world (and don't you dare doubt his competence).

Exactly how does the company being the richest make a difference?

"We're busy trying to find way to re-sell the iPhone 6 as the iPhone 7 and get consumers to believe that it's "new" and to do so, this year we've removed 50% of the antenna bands, added 14% more battery and, and, and... removed the headphone jack due to popular request".

You assume just cause someone has an important position, it's end of debate, cause the company is doing well.

When it comes to senior roles, politics and business are very similar, it's not about the best person for the job...

May I introduce you to Boris Johnson.... Many BoJo's exist in business in very senior roles.

Come to think of it, that would make W Bush, a good president, as he ran the most powerful country in the world ;) .... Logically.

While the whole "Steve wouldn't" thing has gotten old, it's fun to think about if Tim said "no" more often than "yes" these days

For every NO to timely updated Macs, Displays, stable and reliable software, non-pathetic components (spinning hard drives, pathetic webcams, lowres screens, single ports, small memory, small battery etc etc) there are 1000 YESes for milking/rehashing old products, new watch bands, celebrities, pride accessories, gold luxury watches, tv shows, radio stations, emojis, animated crap effects etc etc etc. Truly sad.

It's funny that he says Apple is not trying to create TV shows and then the last paragraph of the article refers to POTA as "its show" (referring obviously to Apple). One or the other of those things is wrong.

Tim "beancounter" Cook. Phil "innovator my ass" Schiller. Eddy "no clue" Cue.

The dream team. Together they have turned a company I admired into something I almost despise these days.

Part of me really hopes that things will change, also when you look at the execs, looks like they are crusing , waiting for thier retirements, trying to maximise thier payouts....hence the push to max profits . Just a theory anyway.

well, if they do buy time warner I hope they fire Zack Snyder from directing anymore DC superhero movies! Find some one to be in charge who gets it. No more Goyer writing the movies either. I have a feeling Ayers is gonna give DC the road map with his suicide squad movie. I have a feeling that one is gonna be a lot of fun to watch!

Where can I sent treatments for show ideas?

No, I think you nailed it on the head. They are afraid to do anything bold and meaningful.

Meanwhile... MacOS and Macintosh hardware die on the vine. IOS devolves into a toy. But hey... WATCHBANDS !!! Ferraris for everyone !!!

If only the "Ghost of Apple Past" would come and scare the crap out of Timmy. Maybe he would put Schiller and Forstall in charge. Ive, Cue, Ferengi, Dré??.... don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Apple with Steve Jobs = Insanely Great !!
Apple without Steve Jobs = just insane

"... very excited about what Apple is doing because it lets the people that I represent be able to do more."

What does that tortured sentence mean ? Who does he represent, thats let them do more ?

That wouldn't shock me. They're all within five years of my age and my husband and friends are all planning their retirements. The difference being my hubby and friends still have to keep producing at top levels and keep their noses to the grindstone in order to make it to retirement. No hanging out with celebrities.

Eddy: " You know what else we are creating?
Watch bands, like 460 types, wink" :D
And they can't even do that without frustrating the hell out of customers. I would go to get a certain color or style and I would keep missing the availability. I gave up and just wear what I have.
