Apple is so out-of-date that this LayZhi guy even dresses like Steve Jobs.

His CGI model of a car is really great though, for a college student project. I'm sure he was a self-made man and not some nepotistic blessing from the central government. I'll go out shopping for a LeShi phone today to see what he is offering... oh, his phones are only available in China or in black market stalls.

His phones are so original. Logo is just a best design in the world

His car looks amazing, good for him.

I'm a little sensitive about him bashing a company I care about, but man he's right. iPhone SE? Doesn't make any sense. Talking about a nylon watch band during a keynote? Surely SJ wouldn't have even let it enter the realm of his mind.

Come on Apple, this year is your chance to prove everyone wrong. Spend two months updating a new product every Tuesday: Mac Mini, Mac Pro, rMBP, Watch 2, 5K TB displays, routers, create a wave of momentum leading up to WWDC and then roll out some exciting OS's for the fall and blow everyone's face off.

Yeah..... right....should not have released the SE..... that phone that still has a 3 week delivery time when ordering on Apples web site. :D:D

CEO hubris + PRC hubris = ' ... a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.'

The iPhone SE is a low-tech device? I don't think so.

Also: "LeShi [another name for LeEco] is focused on the internet first, and only then on software, and finally on hardware."

What exactly does he think the internet is, if not software and hardware?

Says the guy who only has a concept. Even I could do that. This guy has so success or experience yet.

It helps to read beyond the headline:
The 43-year-old entrepreneur began his career as a tech support worker before building his own IT and mobile company, estimated to be worth around $4.8 billion. The Chinese media company is also a strategic partner with US-based electric vehicle company Faraday Future (FF).

I don’t necessarily agree with everything he says (but I’m also not a tech billionaire, so…), but one thing is quite obvious - more and more people are starting to publicly call things as they (imo) are - Apple has become a stale, greedy company, with overpriced, often neglected and/or rehashed products that are intentionally gimped (planned obsolescence) or simply outdated (compared to cutting edge stuff competitors deliver these days). The software is also far-far-far from “it just works” experience these days.

Okay, so here's my question. If this guy is all about China why is his concept car driving in Oakland?

Always helps to read the story before commenting -

"The Chinese media company is also a strategic partner with US-based electric vehicle company Faraday Future (FF)."

Why is MacRumors even posting this? You need the page views that bad?

Oh hey, another Chinese CEO spouting complete and utter nonsense whilst calling out Apple. Placing my bets on who the next one will be in a few months.

That's one way to make a name for yourself: Openly dis the biggest guy in the room.
Its a corollary to "there's no such thing as bad press"...

(I wonder if he pictures himself as the scrappy later-day Steve Jobs and Apple as today's Microsoft.)

This kind of talk is just designed to get more publicity for himself. I will say he has some good points about integration though.

I looked at the LeeCo phones. Wow. They look nothing like iPhones. Completely different. Totally. Future stuff. Available in gold, rose gold, silver and gray. What an incredible selection of colours – nothing else on the market uses those. Innovating like crazy! /s

The software is also far-far-far from “it just works” experience these days.

That's my biggest complaint about today's Apple as well. Their products used to be simple and fun to use - now they are often complex and cumbersome. I'd really like to see them focus on usability in the next iOS iteration rather than new features.
