He is welcome to his opinion, and should express it. He's obviously intelligent and good at what he does - someone doesn't make a $4B+ company by pure chance - which seems to go way over the head of some posters here...

He has some valid points -especially- "As an industry leader, Apple should be developing more cutting-edge products. The iPhone was still a leader five years ago after being launched in 2008 but now the concept has fallen behind."

I can't argue with that one.

Others, such as the iPhone 5SE - if Apple's market research identifies that there is a demand for this form factor, then Apple should offer it. But Apple aren't going to add functionality in the 5SE that exceeds its flagship iPhone. iPhone 5SE has a mixture of both newer and older technology inside...

This guy: "Jack of all trades and master of none".

People only deride what they see as a threat.

If Apple are as lack-lustre as he is saying, then he wouldn't be mentioning their name; not only is he a fool with no sense, he is giving the company he is putting down, FREE publicity. What a twerp! :D

Doh!

It's a little soon to call Apple's product design "obsolete" and I think this guy wants a little publicity. However, I do believe Apple is going to need to focus on making more significant and more frequent updates to keep the iPhone competitive.

Back in 1964 china was begging the west to help it out of the bronze age and now this statement. The way to stop this is to take away their fraudulent use of our knowledge and technology.

Translation: "We've already copied everything you make. Please design something new, we're waiting for it to 'inspire' us again"

/sort of sarcasm

Yeah.. the guy from the country, the culture that copy everything criticised Apple's design, with a straight face I guess. Is there anything more ironic?

That's his phone? :D lol! To be frank, the usage of rose gold is the least of this devices problems. It's just A.N. Other generic, boring and indifferent Android clone phone. Wow... what a stunning... ermm... clone.

Oh look, it's running Android - there's a novel concept that no one would have thought of.

Yep, that’s the brand new model. Copy attempts of colors, with antenna band lines too. Just haha

That's one way to make a name for yourself: Openly dis the biggest guy in the room.

For cars though their not the biggest guy in the room, that'd be that other company with a CEO that has ego for days and also happens to be a self made billionaire...

^^^^ perhaps that's the common thread

Truth cuts the deepest... That's why so many are flaming this guy on here.

If you look at Apple starting at the time of the Second Coming of Jobs, you can definitely tell when Steve's cancer took him out of the office and the key role of pusher, because here we are 5 years later and Apple's design aesthetic and boundary pushing is not so hot compared to pre-2010.

iMac: Same form factor for over 12 years, just getting thinner. Still has the chin, which should have disappeared years ago.

MacPro: AWESOME design, but hasn't seen any kind of upgrade, internal/external, in TWO YEARS.

MacBooks: Yeah... different kind of keyboard in the MacBooks. Keep getting thinner but the overall aesthetic hasn't changed. Why doesn't it have a bezel-less display screen? Why do they keep taking AWAY ports. And the processors are getting weaker and weaker the thinner they get.

iPhone: Size aside, still the same form factor as the beginning... Rounded rectangle with two black/white bars at the top and bottom, same home button, same location of volume buttons and silencer...

I have no problem ripping on Apple for resting on their laurels too much. Even the new product introduction videos with the Apple Execs circle jerking each other are tired and the same over and over for the past 15 years. *Cue Jony Ive against a high-key background talking in a soft tone as closeups of the new product rotate in and out of frame.

The problem with being number one is that there is only one place to go. Maybe it is time for Apple to trip up in order to shake them back up and get hungry to be the best again.

You must not have heard of the phrase "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

A winning design exists, they slowly iterate and refine. You think they need to change everything around just for the sake of change? If Apple listened to opinions from everyone who is clueless about why they succeed, they'd surely go bust in 2 years.

Wow >_<

Looks like a fairly generic concept car, and having headrest video displays with an internet connection isn't exactly a new idea.

I don't think this guy got it right by a long shot. But, all humor and attacks have at their source a kernel of an idea. Everyone should know that for Apple this kernel of an idea is, "Can Cook innovate or will he just let the engineers run wild and never focus enough for a breakthrough product." Jobs used an iron will to force things to completion. Sometimes Jobs got it right and sometimes not, but it was always his and it was new. I just don't see this attention to detail and force of will in Cook or anyone else on the leadership team.

To me, Apple has certainly reached a midterm (if not a long term) peak, just like any other companies when they get to a large size as Apple is. There has not been much product innovation, AAPL is also topping.

Considering that his own phones look like any other generic, run of the mill android phones, maybe he should come up with some real design innovations instead of running his mouth.
