That is great that Element finally did something about signal issues. What material is the black portion they use now? What about under the 3g network though? I read in previous post you are using a microcell. How does it hold up without that? And curious to know how it holds up on moving gps.

Nevertheless great informative pics but whats up with that cartoon speed test thing. :)

All my testing was done with a actual Verizon tower. Verizon doesn't have the microcell, that's AT&T and I posted pics of both cases on 3G using speedtest. The cartoon thing as you called it is an app out of Cydia since Verizon has no field test. So yea, the vapor pro just as well as the atomic in all areas!!

I was trying to respond to you from my phone so now that I am back at my computer I will clear some things up. All my testing was done with an actual Verizon tower, Verizon has no microcell!! At&t has the microcell and that was the reason I got away from AT&T because I can get service in my house with no signal booster with Verizon. Second, the material is aluminum, the entire case is actually aluminum except for the little spot for the signal to come through and its a very hard plastic.
Since Verizon has no Field Test mode you have to use an app from cydia called Strength which does the exact same thing. I think Element has a great design and case this time. It performs just as good and sometimes better than Atomic's hybrid which says a lot. Yes the case is 150 dollars but the one thing you get from element is quality. Nobody has ever questioned the quality of their cases and now that they have solved their signal issues, they actually have a winner and with everything you get and the extra protection of being all aluminum and not plastic.

Nice report man. Could this case be the Atomic Hybrid killer? If Element finally got the material design down, I am looking forward to seeing some other color schemes...

Well it performs just as well to be honest but the price is a lot more but you get a lot with the case too. Its a nice piece and from what I have been told they are slowly getting rid of their old designs like the ar15 and the nickel are both sold out and they are not going to make any more. From now on it will be all pro edition's in different colors. So I am also curious as to what the next one will look like. I think the blackops looks good in person but I think from what I have been told that they have alot of different color combo's coming.

Sweet. Call me crazy, but I think 150 is OK. Also, I like the design of the Black Ops, but I just can't get past the Suede back. It would own with a Carbon Fiber back, but another 25 on top of 150 just seems overkill (even though math-wise it's not too much more). And 200 for the Diamondback is really over the top.

I have my all black e13ctron on the way, and I will likely stop there anyway, but I just like seeing what else is out there in case something goes wacko...

I am not using the suede back either but I don't use any backs, carbon or not. I just think they look better naked but that's just my opinion. I had a e13 when I had my at&t phone and it was a nice case and performed fairly well although I did have a few issues. But I am curious to see how it works with the Verizon phone since it and the at&t iphone operate at different frequencies and that affects the way the signal penetrates. I don't know if it will hurt it signal wise or not. I think it will, I just don't know how much but I would love to see some reviews because it is a good looking case.

I generally agree about the backs, but for some reason, I love the look of the Carbon Fiber on black cases. Ironically, the Atomic one is the only one I like (real CF, individual cutouts for camera and flash, and apple logo cutout). For now, I have a nice matte Ghost Armor back on mine that works for scratch protection and is fingerprint proof.

As far as the e13ctron and signal, will let you know next week :)

i was able to pick up an element carbon fiber back plate off ebay for 9 bucks shipped from hong kong. it did take about 2 and a half weeks to get here but its well worth it since i saved 20+.

if you are going the ebay hong kong route make sure they have pictures they took themselves and make sure it has the right markings. (the diagonal grain, the correct logo, different color values at different angles.)

i ordered the black ops and it will be here on Thursday ill try and post pics of the set up.

New colors for the Pro (Spectra Series) and $20 cheaper - nice combo. My next case if the e13ctron doesn't work for me...

I'm also getting one sent to me for testing side by side with all the other hybrid cases out now (atomic, element, new Exovault). Hopefully they don't take as long to get to me as they used to. I'll be able to give you guys a complete comparison soon.

the new colors are really good i am thinking what color to buy to match white iphone:D

silver/silver | black/black | or red/black would look really nice. I ordered the blackops because I like that finish better and it's limited edition - for only $10 more (if you count the cost of the transit kit) - all in all the only other choice would be a silver/silver combo for the white iphone.

I got these two for my white phone. I think any of the colors will look good. Red would look great also, my wife is wanting the pink one now. But I think these look better than their originals and I already know they perform well since I had the blackops. I can't wait to see these on my phone!!

Pics didn't show. Here they are!

Element Vapor Case 4 problem..

Hey guys,

today i received my vapor 4 case, but I have a little problem.
The parts of the case, where the red and black parts come together, does not fit the phone perfectly.. I can still see the gray edges of the phone a bit (1-2mm). Just under the power button is the exact location. Anyone having also this issue?

In youtube in some videos I have watched, I have also realised that, that part under the power button, seems a bit above and so it is possible to see the gray edges of the phone.

I dont know if this is the case for most of the other people who are using this case? I have bought that from ebay, and the seller told me now that it can also be a chinese version, that's why it does not fit perfectly.. I may send the case back. That's why I want to be sure if the case really have a problem.

Thank you in advance,

is there actually any point to the felt piece by the earhole? is it for looks or is it meant to make it more comfortable or somethin cuz i think it looks kind of weird personally if its just the top and not the bottom too.
