Element must have the worse customer service on this planet! I've written numerous emails asking about my order. I wanted to change the case I ordered to a different one. (The site wouldn't let me because it said it was still in process) 3 days later, I get an email saying that it was shipped. WTH?!!! That's what I wanted to avoid. Now I gotta receive the shipment and mail it back on my dime! SMH! They need to do something about this. This type of customer service won't make me come back for other items.

Maybe you'll end up liking it so much you'll want to keep it :D

I think you can refuse to receive the package in which case the carrier sends it back to the sender w/o you having to pay for it. But I don't know if EC will send back another order for you. In the worst case you can dispute the CC charge and claim you never received it :p

My bad. Poor research on my part I did not realize Element was made in the USA. I really want one but can't get my head around paying $149 for a white one.

Same here. That is why I ordered one from China for $25. I also found 3 other people at work to order some so we are splitting the $20 Fedex shipping fee. :)

How long does it take Vapor to reply to their tickets online to report warranty/returns/etc? Already waited 24 hours with no reply.

Same here, I'm getting a little upset. My problem is with the plastic portion on the vapor stealth bowing out.

Crazy part, when I submitted a ticket asking what armband works with that case I got an answer within 5 minutes in which they said "I do not know what case would work" and we exchanged 4 e-mail back and forth. This new ticket regarding the case, 72 hours later and still no answer, I even asked the original guy that I was talking about the armband with and he said... "If you created another ticket they will get back with you shortly".

Have either of you received a reply yet? I've been waiting 5 days now for an RMA number on my ticket, with a couple replies after 48 hours and then today. Nothing.

I am on day 3 now.

Debating on reporting to my CC company, not sure if they can do anything.

I was willing to work out a replacement for this, but at this point I don't even want it anymore.

Nope, still nothing... I'm going to go to the BBB and report them to my CC company. Wondering if they closed shop, recently they removed their customer service phone number from the site; very odd. I do still have the number but they never answer the phone no matter what option you select.

Element Case customer service contact info phone number: (650) 486-1353

EDIT: Wow guys look at this!

Their customer service is pretty much non-existent during launch periodS of a new iPhone. Pity they make such pretty cases. But it's certainly not worth the hassle of dealing with them.

They finally responded.

They told me to remove the lining. I told them I want a refund, picked up a cheapy case at Best Buy to hold me over. I think I am going for an el13tron case.

I am considering to buy a element COMP case, for those of you who have this case, I am just wondering, is that possible I can just get this case without the backplate? if I just put the frame on without blackplate, will the phone get a bit loose? I really don't like the backplate... thanks

Just remove the lining to make the case fit correctly? I don't think that's what they meant.... I would respond to them and ask them to clarify.

Are you talking about the COMP case, because I heard something about some of the liners installed reversed 180 degrees. Flipping it around prevented fit problems....

The backplate has nothing to do with the case. It's just a stick on. Whether you choose to use it or not does not affect the usability of the case.

They finally responded today and told me to refuse the shipment to save $ on shipping. At least they did that. Bad thing is, now I gotta wait another week to get my new case cuz they won't ship the new one til they get this one back. Sucks about their rating with the BBB. They really are nice cases. My brother has one and it looks awesome!

Gearmoxie.com

I had a post earlier about my Vapor Comp not fitting the 4s correctly. Gearmoxie.com CSR was awesome in fixing the issue. They sent out a Vapor Spectra case (which I chose) at no cost to me. All I need to do is ship the Vapor comp back.

Really pleased with the customer service, I recommend this site for purchasing element cases

Has anyone else noticed loss of signal using the carbon fiber backplate? I bought the Limited Edition White Carbon Fiber Backplate and used it with a bumper (SGP), but instantly had horrible wifi reception as well as little to no phone reception. Once I took it off everything worked perfectly fine. Is there a known problem with carbon fiber and the iPhone 4S?

A lot of times true carbon fiber backplates WILL interfere with reception. All of the one's that I have (2 from Lucky Labs, 2 from Atomic, 1 from Element) all hit my reception for about 10-12dB loss. I've seen this in many of the case reviews I've done. True carbon fiber is not very RF transparent at all, and if you're in a lower reception area, it has the ability to impact your phone's reception pretty severely. I have a prototype full carbon fiber case from another company that completely kills my phone's reception...it'll take it from 3-4 bars of service down to "No service" the instant it's put on the phone.

I have the SGP carbon fiber back sticker on now and am experiencing great reception. Isn't the Lucky Labs sticker just a 3M sticker with the look of carbon fiber like the SGP? I actually just ordered the Lucky Labs one and it's on the way to my house...

The SGP (I have that one as well) is just a textured 3M sticker. The Lucky Labs "Tru Skin" this one... http://theluckylabs.com/iphone-4s-tru-skin-back-only.html is real carbon fiber, and it can impact your reception slightly. I've spoken with several fellow reviewers that have seen this happen. Usually it's not enough to make your phone unusable though.

Ah...! Thanks for the clear up!! I ordered the regular stick on back cover that's $9.99 from Lucky Labs so I should be fine (like with my SGP back sticker). Thanks again!!

It's weird that GearMoxie customer service is better since it's the same company according to the exchange I had with Element Case on eBay.

P.S. Thanks to everyone for sharing the fact that real CF impacts reception. I got matte CF back as part of my Vapor COMP Stealth, so that's what I thought about using. Now, I'll probably go back to considering Mas black titanium backplate (not sure it fits though).

Mmm...no. GearMoxie is an Element Case authorized dealer and not the same company as Element Case. Maybe you misunderstood that the people managing the EC EBay store are the same as GearMoxie not that GearMoxie is the same as EC?

I recommend purchasing through their official ebay page (elementcase). The shipping is actually cheaper and they also respond to questions via ebay whereas if you buy from the site its nearly impossible to get in touch with them.

Trust me, GearMoxie is an Element Case company. I inquired about it with ElementCaseInc on eBay because my package showed GearMoxie on the label and, at the time, GearMoxie wasn't listed under authorized dealers. So I sent a message via eBay to make sure everything was on the up and up (since there are so many fakes). You can read the response below:

Dear xxxx,

Sometimes I'm a little confused as well. Element Case ebay is one in the same with Element Case, Inc. Gearmoxie is new pilot concept that we have just started, when it really launches in early 2012 will be selling Element products along with several other brands. We have been using the Gearmoxie shipping account for the Element ebay store. This has been causing some confusion so we will start shipping with the Element account. We will also make sure that we post Gearmoxie on the authorized element dealer page, you should see this in the next 24 hours. Please feel free to contact us Directly at Element Case if you have any other questions or concerns.

Best Regards,

Sean

Their eBay ID is elementcaseinc and I agree that buying from eBay is a better option.
