Just understand that the Vapor 4 is not ment for a 4s and you will likely have signal issues.

There have been a couple of reports on this forum of users having no signal issues with Vapor 4 on an iPhone 4s. Please do you own due diligence and dont hold me to this statement (since I have not tested this), cheers.

One such report was on the Fake Vapor Pro thread just a few hours ago.

Just trying to make sure that you get what you are looking for as Element Case states right on their website (you actually need to check a box acknowledging) that the Vapor 4 (non pro) is NOT for a iPhone 4s.

I dont know about ElementCase, was referring to the "fake" vapor 4. I would imagine the OEM vapor 4 would have the same effect.

I love the look of the Vapor Comp, but I cannot justify spending $135 on it (that's how much it costs to get to Australia). Unless there is somewhere I can get it cheaper. Got a $50 Apple Store Voucher too, but can't find anyone to trade with so I can get this case :p

So, yeah. I bought the Vapor Pro Black Ops for my Verizon 4 last night on eBay (It is a legit case). $119.98 shipped.

I'm a little scared of what I'm actually getting for that price. I may just relist it on eBay if I don't dig it. It still seems gorgeous though.

it must come from elementcase.com or any of the authorized dealer. otherwise, you got a fake one as the one from China looks identical to the eyes. If the seller on ebay can proof that he got it from elementcase.com or the other store, then you have a higher chance. If not, then it's fake.

since you have the Black Ops, then the plastic part should be more orange color like the picture from elementcase.com site. the fake one is more clear than orange...

which ebay link is it? I can see if it's fake or not...

I feel sorry for all those completed auction...cause it is easily the fake ones selling for $100 or more. I look at all the completed auctions for the past 2 days and they're all FAKE. Yikes.

Can someone also let me know how to tell if the case I'm getting is a legit case?

The small criticisms I have of the Vapor range all stem from one and the same thing.
- Pricing is borderline nuts, with most cases costing $99 - $150, plus shipping and taxes where applies.
- And because of the pricing, at 150 dollars per pop, one would expect NASA levels of precision and finish. But the product is actually not that precise.

Don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t rattle and it’s not loose or anything, but in my book, for the money I expected it to be super precise and to fit like it was part of factory design. I expected the bumper to go all the way to the screen, all around the phone, few microns short of being like a watertight gasket. I certainly did not expect to see any part of the metal strip.

Partially because tolerances are too big, and partially because the whole assembly relies on rather low rent rubber padding inside the bumper the gaps around are fraction of a mm uneven which spoils the effect just a bit. On my Black Ops the padding is ever so slightly visible in the corners. Because tolerance was overshot by a mm or so, the more you line up the bumper to one side of the phone, the more gap you create and more of a silver strip you see on the other. If you lift your phone in the case up to the light, you'll see the light leaking through holes where the measurements are just slightly off.

Screen shield, although a mere freebie, is actually slightly too small. And then we have the back plates. Rather than it being proper back plate that is held by the edges of the bumper, the back plate in Pro versions is just a sticker, for the back, so with imprecise fit of the bumper itself it doesn’t cover ridges between back panel and bumper walls and dust and **** gets in there and is impossible to clean after couple of weeks.

Before you get wrong impression - it’s really good case, and the fit is very good by any regular standards. But we are not dealing with regular standards. If the vapor was 50 bucks I would give it 10 out of 5 starts for quality, but because it’s 150 bucks I'm sorry but I expect it to fit like a nano component on the motherboard of USS Enterprise. End of. Call me OCD, but the product, as it is now, just doesn't.

So all I can say is - it’s worth gettng only if you try to find one at fraction of the price on ebay, being sold by some guy who bought it for his Verizon phone just to discover it doesn’t fit. 50-70 bucks is the max this thing should cost.

sigh.

it was only a matter of time before some chump started doing this for profit.

Im all for spending less with these fake ones, but to buy a fake one at a fraction of the price and sell it as an OEM case annoys me.

search for completed auction....90% of them are fake and going for $50 or more.... The thing is...the seller is not saying it's a fake...so they are lying to the buyers...pretty sad.

hey mate, i got mine to Australia for $125 from memory or so, i signed up for their newsletter and got a voucher for 10% off, and the shipping is currently half price which is $15 via fedex to Australia.

Case is worth it!

Real Deal Silver/Silver Spectra on 4s from TekCases.

Like the other reply said, I was expecting tolerances to be tight as a gnats ass for the price. The inner rubber is just stickied on in the corners- they are 4 small pieces; I thought it was a one piece gasket according to descriptions. Also, the lip on the face could have been smaller to reduce the thickness of the case; feels a little thick in the hands. Don't get me wrong though, I like the case, and willing to live with the shortcomings..

That said, I'm thinking of trying the Atomic Hybrid C just to see how they compare.

'Nuff said, here's my phone with the case on...

jesus what camera are you using there? pictures look absolutely amazing...

as for quality, is that OEM? the fake one i have looks exactly the same in terms of finish, and i would even argue there is a smoother corner on mine where the parts of the case meet and screw together.

Like I said, it's the real deal Spectra from an authorized dealer: TekCases.

BTW, it's not the camera... it's the lighting. ;)

Spoken like a true photographer, love the lighting setup. This will give me something to try to emulate when I get mine.
