With the genuine Vapor Pro from elementcase.com, has anyone experienced any fading/chipping/scratching/wearing through of the clearcoat on the Vapor Pro White Edition??? or even wearing all the way through of the clear coat to the white paint?

Mine is scratching up pretty easily and I'm just worried how quickly it's going to wear through and then start stripping the white paint off. It's a $150 case, so i'm not too happy, but i guess it's my own fault... i should have bought the anodized silver vapor pro version...

Element Case switched from painting their cases with acrylic urethane to powder coating, which is much more durable. If you contact customer support, I bet they'll help you out...

Bought the vapor pro (white edition) from tekcases.com until now is still flawless. I'd suggest you call customer support if you're in the 90 day window.

Vapor pro spectra silver.

Thinking of buying one of these but will be for weekend use only. (have to use a griffin survivor for work or phone will end up trashed ) can anyone see any problems with using the case in this way. It's on a white 4s btw.

anyone has a picture of vapor pro black ops and vapor pro stealth on a white iphone?
want to get either one of it to match my white iphone but cant decide which one... both has matte surfaces which i really love...

Am I going crazy or is this case really $100.00? I like this case and would love to buy it but $100.00? If someone could point me in the direction of getting this case cheaper please let me know.

The only way you're going to get the real case for cheaper is to buy a gift card for yourself, get the gift credit, use the 10% off and then combine all three together. Or buy it used from someone else but you have to make sure it isn't a fake.

some of the fakes are as good as the real deal, you just have to know who to buy from.

Is it not technically illegal to buy a knockoff? Or since it's a company located abroad somehow your conscience isnt affected? I don't get it. If you worked your a$$ off and built a company and hired employees and paid your taxes, and then some international company started making exact fake replicas and selling at a 3rd of your price because they don't pay taxes and the us dollar is worth more over there, you'd be okay with that morally? Or since it doesn't affect you in any way in this particular situation it's okay?

They should make price gouging for a piece of aluminum/plastic illegal too, lmao :p

So you're telling me it costs $150 to cut a strip of aluminium and market it? come on.....they are price hiking because it is a unique product that is made to look better than it is.

If the Chinese can afford to mass produce them and sell them for $20 and still make profit, what does that tell you?

I do agree about stealing the name though, it would be better if they were slightly different in design and using a different name (obviously).

Ya, if they modified the design a bit and called it something else then maybe it wouldn't be so blatantly wrong. I myself have morals so I couldn't do it. Gee I wonder why America is goin down!?

I don't want to turn this into a political debate, but America is "goin down" because Americans buy things they can't afford (over-priced strips of aluminum) from other Americans who over charge.

Perhaps some of the people you're criticizing are people who recognize the concept of "living within their means".

BTW, I bought an Element Case directly from Element.

Well said, mate, cheers

We have debated this to death. Please stop with the "America is going down" argument. Even many of Element supporters don't even argue that mentality. They defend Element against knock-offs based purely on intellectual theft. That is THE ONLY valid argument here.

Anvil has done an outstanding job of explaining the CNC process of the aluminum on Element Cases. I confirmed the quality by asking one of the snowboard companies why they don't CNC their aluminum bindings. Simply put, they said "If we CNC machined our bindings, they would cost 8x more."

I have learned a great deal from the civil debates between Anvil, Vudoo (started rocky), and myself. None of which included the "America's economy is going down" topic.

I can now say Element does require a price premium for the CNC process alone. Then take in the annodizing/paint process. Do I still think it's pricier than it should be? Yes, I do. This is evidenced by the price difference between the Vapor 4/Comp and Pro. Unless the Pro goes through an even more elaborate process.

Everything else, I stand by. One being snowboard bindings are undoubtedly more durable than these cases regardless of the fact that they are stamped rather than CNC machined.

I'm still ignorant to what exactly CNC does to increase quality. Cannot be durability alone. A stamped aircraft aluminum snowboard binding is bomb-proof. Just look at what snowboarders do on these bindings.

I also still stand by the argument that these knock-off customers wouldn't ever spend that much on an iPhone case. Only a very few will. So this debate should only be about intellectual theft and nothing else.

I am glad that we have come to an understanding the higher cost that Element charges is in part to the manufacturing process. Another part is that because made in the USA does mean higher labor costs. A good example of this is Levi jeans. Their least expensive jeans are $58 while their made into the USA jeans start at $178. Assuming that material costs are the same, that means their labor costs are triple.

And if the CNC manufacturing 8x cost example is comparative, then the $20 non-CNC fakes may correspond with the $160 price tag for the real CNC ones. I would be interested in knowing what the cost would be if the "exact" manufacturing process was done in China.

Element Cases is a luxury product and it has a luxury price tag. And apparently there is enough demand to keep them busy.

My two cases should arrive this week so I'll post photos when they come in. And if the white pro Element looks good, I'll put my Vaja case on the market.

Can someone please confirm if there are still gps issues with the vapor pro on an iPhone 4 s please.
Thanks Bryan. I use tomtom quite often so could be a major issue for me.

Must have dropped my phone at least half a dozen times when I was out today. There was a tear in my pocket that I keep forgetting. But the Black Ops case held up brilliantly! A few tiny dots of blemish and that's it! :D
