After 18 days, I finally received my cases from Element Case.

My wife got the Vapor Comp in red and I got the Vapor Pro white edition. The Comp packaging is like you would see on an accessory hanger at the store while the Pro came in a nice box with a carrying case as well.

My first impression is that they really look nice and they are pretty light. The quality seems to be there. The Vapor Comp fits perfectly, but the Vapor Pro was a little snug. The Comp came with a silver blackish screwdriver and the Pro came with a silver screw driver. The screws on the Comp are shorter and wider, while the screws on the Pro are longer and thinner so the screw drivers are not interchangeable. There is no obvious sign of signal or GPS lost on either case on the iPhone 4 or 4s.

I decided not to use the back covers or the clear front ones, since I feel that it takes away from the design of the iPhone. My only issue is that the Vapor Pro makes the phone a little wider to grip so that is something to get used too.

Are they worth a $100 for the Comp and $150 for the Pro? Honestly, I wouldn't pay MSRP for them, unless you have money to throw around. However, I still would not buy or recommend a fake. So it's a good thing I got a bargain then.

Now for the pictures. My wife is the black iPhone 4 and mine is the white iPhone 4s.

Great product, terrible customer service.

About a week after my order, I e-mailed customer service on Tuesday night asking about when my cases would be shipped out. I received an e-mail from them the next day on saying that it would be at the end of the week. That Friday, I received the Fed Ex tracking number. That was the extent of my dealings with customer service and I found them to be prompt.

You're one in one hundred. Good for you.

my experience has been nothing but exceptional. emails are replied back within a few minutes and I had about 20 email exchanges with the csr. so that makes it 2 in one hundred...

Make me number 3! I have had good luck with all 3 of my orders with them. I'm currently not using my pro but it's just because I am trying another case at the moment, not because of any problems I had with the case or any issues it caused with the phone. Great case I think. I have the original venom pro.

my first element case - got the comp epiphany in the mail today. not disappointed. i also bought the pro chroma in silver, but i'm going to send it back - texture is a little funny to me. i like the smooth epiphany though.

Another issue that I've come across is that my Etymotic Research earphones require me to push them down hard to make the connection. Apparently the opening is just a tad too small. No issues with my Shure earphones, but those are straight connector while the ERs have a right angle connector. Not sure how much of a difference that makes.

So I just bought a vapor pro black ops on Ebay for $60 total. Hope its real because the image showed the certificate and the packaging seemed to match the ones i've seen in unboxing videos pretty closely. Anyone know what's up with people on ebay having a stock of these and selling them? I'll let you guys all know when it comes in. If it has any signs of it being fake, I'll be sure to show you guys and do open a dispute.

This was the picture, looks pretty convincing:

If you expect to buy a real one in new condition for $60......it most likely a knockoff.

But keep in mind its rather common practice for chinese factories that actually produce these things to over produce and sell them on their own for their own profits. That kinda stuff happens in China, and I've witnessed it with my own eyes. Reading this thread I can almost guarantee that's whats happening looking at the overall packaging and closeness of the knockoffs. My friend actually has a real one too so I'll be sure to compare when I get mine.

I'll bet its fake looking at pics,on the genuine black ops the polycarbonate bumper is a lot more orange in colour.

Looking at the picture, it looks like a fake because the plastic piece is suppose to be orange, not clear.

Authentic Element Cases are made in the USA so I highly doubt they are being over produced due to cost of manufacturing. Demand is actually higher than supply so there is a waiting period for certain cases at certain time. My Vapor Pro white had a 5 day period.

It's not uncommon for people to buy Chinese fakes and pass them off as real on eBay. The fakes go as far as duplicating every aspect including a certificate of authenticity. If you're not buying from the company direct or an authorized dealer, I would be asking for more evidence of authenticity such as an invoice.

just received my 4th iphone 4 case after being naked for a couple months. i got the blue vapor pro. first impressions is that it's very light. i was expecting some heft to it but it is surprisingly light. the blue is a matte finish and looks great. fit and finish is great, only little gripe is on the left hand side, it seems like the connection isn't the smoothest but it doesn't bother me much. is it worth the $100, maybe, we'll see when i end up dropping it.
pics to come some time.... eventually, unless someone requests it then i'll work on them.

It sounds like you're trying to convince yourself that its the real deal when in actuality, its a fake. The real element cases, like others have said, are NOT made in china. You need to read the fake element vapor thread thats on the 1st page.

my story

I hear a lot of rant bout EC's customer's service, though i would agree a year ago with my Vapor 4... but I nvr got a chance to share my story about my case that I got a month ago or so. I shared it in the fake vapor section lol...

Quote myself:

"Originally I have a vapor 4 tactic case during the 50% discount sale at EC (before iP4s launch), which costed $60, but the case end up with paint defects (peeling). I had exchanged it and received a replacement case, but the peeling occurred again. Recently they discontinued the case so they gave me the option to exchange for a Vapor Pro instead ($60 for a Vapor Pro... why would I say no?). So yesterday I took the chance to e-mail with a rep and exchanged for a Vapor Pro White Edition (extra $20 for White edition). Like wow... fastest shipping ever, covered by EC, I got the case this morning, less than 24hrs shipping!"

so yeaa... basically... the whole chat with them lasted 1 hrs bac n forth... agreement... pay by paypal, then shipped... arrived at my door step in less than 24hrs... sometimes i really wonder wtf FedEx is doin with some orders...
btw i live in toronto.
